The new human body?,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Gynoids (Paperback)
Funny thing about the future: here and now is the "future" we were dreaming about before, but we never figured it would turn out this way, did we? Sorayama's artbooks are like erotica from one of those possible futures -- a PENTHOUSE from an alternate dimension where the human body is mutable, frangible, endlessly re-workable, a source of limitless possibilities. GYNOIDS is a step further for Sorayama down the same road he's travelled before -- exotic women, hyper-realistic technique -- but he's constantly pushing, challenging the viewer to see things HIS way. This is one of those books you close and then go out into the world with new eyes to see with.

Going in different directions,

It's easy to tell Hajime Sorayama was full of wonderful ideas during this period. He shows some transformations, as he takes previous works, and 'jazzes' them up. I love the layout of this book, it paces itself, almost a show of types. I loved it. Thanks again goes to this artist, for taking his chances. -Kevin

Women Merging With Metal,
By Irish Buachall "D. de Róiste" (Ireland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Gynoids (Paperback)
This is a fantastic book which I've owned for along time now. It is one of the first books I obtained while starting out on the road of the Fantasy Art genre. Sorayama is a master of the Airbrush methods. His paintings are of an adult nature depicting women in bondage, characters restrained and of course, lifelike beautiful women. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I am NOT looking at a photo because the art is so lifelike. This book is for adults and the open minded. I only own this one book by Sorayama, but I am aware of his Pin-up series, Mythologies series & Sexy Robots series. If there was a lottery ball spinning in the machine that was for Fantasy Airbrush Art, Sorayama Hajimes name would be on it.

Lovely images...,

but they seem to deal more with bondage with metal and plastic, instead of female robots. That is why I took two stars away - not because the artwork isn't great, but because the artwork really does not seem to focus on gynoids.
