The band began in 1997 when singer/harmonica player, Myron Frame, (San Diego, Ca.), and lead guitarist/bass/singer, Patrick Reynolds, (Poway, Ca.), would get together with family and friends and jam on songs for hours. During one of these "garage" jams Patrick asked Myron to write lyrics to several melodies he had created on guitar. Over the next several months Myron wrote lyrics to seven of the original songs that are recorded on the first Kyniptionz CD, titled "FIT".
At one of the jam sessions bass/guitarist/singer, Paul Clark (Lakeside, Ca.), joined up with Myron and Pat.
In September 2001 Rodger Bennett, (Murrieta, Ca.), joined the band adding his "on fire" pro-drumming skills.
Last, but not least, singer Tara Clark, (Lakeside, Ca.), joined the band adding her lilting female backup vocals to songs and her own special energy to lead vocals on recordings and when the band performs live.
The band first began performing live at numerous private parties, and then progressed to San Diego coffeehouses, then playing at adult dance clubs around San Diego County. The band has played at the famous Del Mar Fair as part of a songwriters showcase for the Songwriters Guild of San Diego and performed live on a local television newscast. Besides playing their own unique original songs the band also plays a variety of classic rock and roll cover songs.
The correct dictionary spelling of "Kyniptionz" is "conniptions" and means a fit of rage, hysteria, or alarm, (origin unknown).
