This album has long been unavailable on the U.S. market in digital form. It is my favorite release by NRPS, in part because it was released around the first time that I saw them perform. The live version of Death and Destruction, witnessed at Georgetown University in the early 1970s, blew me away. It could have been the stellar musicianship or it could have been a contact high from all the reefer smoke filling the area or it could have been both, but hey, it was a brilliant show. That memory combined with the fact that this album has what I consider to be many of the band's best songs (and the well chosen bonus tracks) makes it easy for me to recommend this as an essential purchase.

Everything was perfect. I wish I had purchased it when it was first released so I could have saved money. I will buy from them again.

One of their very best albums. The bonus live cuts were a nice surprise.

So many young acoustic groups have eclipsed the licks and inventiveness of bands like New Riders that they now sound a bit dated. (If you haven't heard The Greencards, check them out now). But as pioneers of a certain time and sound, one should have some of their stuff on hand and this is a good representative artifact of spacey, country rock picking from the seventies. You can hear boundaries being pushed and minds expanding, though the direction is unclear like the lives of kids of any era.
