An Excellent sampling of traditional vocal music from Hungary. A fine insight into the music of the itinerant gypsies, their styles, instruments (spoons, milk cans), vocal delivery (oral bassing) with occasional instrumental backup to make the songs more accessable to general audiences. Ando Drom is one great group. Both of their albums available internationally are great.

This is one of my all-time favourite CDs. This band was Hungary's top Rom (Gypsy) band until they broke up a few years ago. This CD really captures them at their best, full of amazing energy, great vocals, guitars, and an Indian flair. They do a magnificent version of the Rajasthani classic Pundela here. Actually, every track on this CD is wonderful. I am not sure if this one is still in print in North America. So, if you find one, consider yourself very lucky. The same CD was released by the group in Hungary (but with a gray cover). This is a truly classic recording. A++++++

Yes, I agree, this is one of the best gypsy CDs ever. It was also released as "Kaj Phirel o Del".

I saw them in Budapest in 1998. The CD brought me right back to Andrasy Utca! Awesome!
