Swinging, firey tunes played on trumpet, saxaphone, trumpet and tuba has your body swaying to the music, add melodic embellishments on the accordion and this music has you up on your feet, choreographing your own dances. These gypies come from Macedonia - inheriting the rhythms and melodies played by the Turks in ancient times. The music is played at weddings, christenings, and just about any holiday or ritual event that exists in the region. The ensemble consists of relatives who learned to play from previous generations. The band leader, Naat Veliov, has added many jazz variations and South American themed music to his repertoire, spicing it up even more . Great music by anyone's definition!!!
