A young Indian woman, raised in London to fulfill her parents' dreams of respectability, sets off in search of her own dreams—and disrupts the whole family. A beautifully written, charming story, where fairy tale elements blend seamlessly with the characters' biographies, make for a touching account of how our past and our family help to shape us, but are never ultimately responsible for what we choose to become.
