Product Description

A set of two sizes, 7 by 7 inches and 9 by 9 inches, of semi-hoops that control the fabric during free-motion quilting on a standard home sewing machine. Easy to use and extremely light weight. Hold gently with both hands while the bottom surface rests lightly and securely on the fabric. It will retain the desired position in all directions while preventing bunching. Relaxed hand positioning prevents hand wrist and shoulder fatigue. The squared shape allows a greater area to be quilted.

After practicing, I got the hang of using it and has truly made quilting designs smoother and simpler. Can quilt longer and more accurately.

I purchased this because I was having trouble machine quilting on my regular sewing machine due to pain in my hands. This works really well , and doesn't take much pressure on them to have good control. The only problems I see is that it's a small area that can be quilted at a time, and you have to have a large flat surface to move them around.

After trying the quilter for several days, I found it does not work well with my machine. It was necessary to stop every few stitches to adjust the position of the quilter, which kept hitting sides of the machine and the attached even feed foot. Very stressful. The inside dimensions are 2 inches smaller than those advertised.

The quilter also needs a very flat, even surface as any little bump will throw the stitches out of alignment.

This quilter probably would work quite well on a machine with a wide sewing bed and set into its own table even with the machine. Therefore, for me I could only give 1 star.

I saw these at a well-known sewing site but thought they were too expensive, since I didn't know how well they would work. I found them here at Amazon for much less so decided to buy. I free-motion quilt with gloves but get hand fatigue after a few hours, so these are great to switch to, as they are quite easy to use. Moving from one spot to the next is a little more involved than by hand, and you can't work over quite as large a block or area (even with the larger one), but they worked as expected and are very useful. I think they are especially great for fine detail in very small areas.

I received my Gypsy Quilter and have quilted a twin size quilt with it. It took me a few minutes to learn how to use it but once I got the hang of it used it without a problem. It works great and I quilted the quilt with better control and less wrinkles. I would recommend it to my friends.

I just started free motion quilting. I was having a problem with my quilt top sticking to my sewing machine. I purchased this product and it is awesome. It makes moving the quilt top around so easy and smooth. I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone.

These make free motion quilting much easier to control. I tend to use the smaller one more often since my machine doesn't have the largest space. I like the control they give with gripping the quilt without needing to put too much pressure. It is like holding a steering wheel my hands don't cramp up after using these. Deffintately makes me happy after doing alot of darning that my hands aren't tired.

I thought this thing clamped the fabric like a hoop. It doesn't. It has a rubber-like gripper surface, and you have to hold it down with both hands as you guide the fabric with it. For me, it's no easier or more effective than using my hands. It might help someone with some sort of a hand challenge, but can't think what that might be.
