I purchased this sit upon for my spouse who for long periods of time sits at her sewing machine putting together quilts. Once I took it out of the box and sat on it, it occurred to me that I would actually like it to use when I sit at a keyboard typing away. In the first instance you might think this is a cushion to soften a hard seat. In fact what is actually occuring when you sit upon one is the center core of your body relaxes and then tenses up. In order to every so subtlely "keep your balance" sitting is actually exercising. I am not suggesting that this is an aerobic exercise substitute, but it does work on core training, balance and intuitive stability. It takes a little getting used to. Once you are accustomed to sitting on it, you are sure to miss it when you plant your butt on a hard seat. I am purchasing a second one so we don't fight over it.
