GYPSY-UNSUNG HEROES, June 18, 2000

To answer the other reviewer: Enrico is gone, passed away in 1979. This music will always get played on my stereo, no dust will collect on any Gypsy music! Unbelievable that national press has not picked up on this band. Sweetwater? A whole VH1 show on that? What we need is a VH1 special on this band. Talk about a band with SO much talent, yet no luck. The original born under a bad sign band. Band members: Bill Lordan (later with Robin Trower), James Walsh, Enrico Rosenbaum (RIP), Randy Cates, Doni Larson, Jim Johnson, and Jay Epstein. Sometimes sounds like Santana, but with wonderful vocal harmonies. The first three albums are priceless, stunning works of art. You can't go wrong purchasing Gypsy, In the Garden, or Antithesis. Worth every penny. More Gypsy details at: www.midwesttribute.com

A great, overlooked band, June 22, 2000

Talk about snakebit! This band has some tough luck. The original "born under a bad sign" band. How about great lyrics, fine balanced musicianship, and fabulous vocal harmonies for starters? With all that talent, yet let down by bad management and 70's shifting taste in music (disco), plus internal problems. But this band almost made it big. Check out a real gem. Best in their genre.

Gypsy: The Hidden Gem Of An Album, June 3, 2000
This review is from: Gypsy (Audio CD)
This is one of those rare albums that is timeless. The songwriting, arrangements and string accompanyment all contribute to a listening experience of rare joy. It has been classed as prog-rock; this an erroneous label, as it adheres more closely to the style of artists such as Poco, Dan Fogelburg, and countless other singer-songwriters. Enrico Rosenbaum, where are you? You and your cohorts created a masterpiece when you recorded this album!
