We are very happy with this purchase. We've attached a computer to the Flat Screen TV in our family room. The TV is mounted on the wall, and can switch between cable, DVD and now computer monitor. The Gyration Air Mouse and low profile keyboard work with computer. So we typically use the air mouse while sitting on the sofa, across the room. I've yet to learn all the features, but basic operation works great. And, it has a nice WOW factor when showing to my friends.Gyration GYM1100CKNA Air Mouse GO Plus with Compact Keyboard

Hardware:
I had original airmouse with compact keyboard and use with PC connected to TV - mostly for Zune, movies, Skype, etc. Using the mouse in the air, I think the original airmouse is better ergonomically - but this mouse is better when used on hard surface. Like the original airmouse, by default, you press and hold button under mouse with index finger while moving the mouse and let go when you place cursor on the object - you then don't have to worry about the cursor moving off the object while you click the other buttons - for me, without this feature, using it in the air would be frustrating. The range of the mouse and keyboard is much better than the original. I did not like the compact keyboard I had before and this full size is perfect. It is very thin, a little heavy but sturdy, and the batteries last a long time (however, I admit I do not type much on this PC).

Software:
I disabled the gesture features as I could not get the hang of it and the rest of the family found it more annoying than helpful. The software is ok and it is easy to map application functions to the keys but it is limited on what functions in the application is available. It is context sensitive to which applicaiton you are using (buttons change function when you switch applications) but this can be confusing. I could not figure out how to map media center Play/Stop/FF/RW features to the buttons. The software is a bit annoying as I get frequent updates to install.

Overall, this product is great for multimedia PC use.

I bought the Gyration Air Mouse w/ low profile keyboard to replace a Microsoft wireless mouse and keyboard that had very poor signal range and functionality. The signal range on the mouse and keyboard is awesome. I am seated 10 feet away from my display and I get exceptional response time from the mouse and keyboard. If you get wrist pain from long usage of your mouse on a flat surface, you will love the Air Mouse. The Air Mouse has great responce even with fast clicking or double clicking and moves well according to your hand and arm movement, but it does take some getting used to. You get software called Gyration Motion Tools that allows you to set custom setting for your mouse (i.e., doube-click speed, pointer trail, etc.) and program the buttons on the mouse. For example, all you have to do is click one button on the mouse and your Web browser will open up. You also get a tutorial that completely explains all the functions of the buttons on your Air Mouse. A charger that connects to your PC is included for the Air Mouse and 2 AAA batteries for your keyboard. This product is compatible with Windows 7. I am completely happy with my purchase and would highly recommend you go out and buy this product now if you have $100 to burn. It's that good.

We bought this specifically because we needed it to work without line-of-sight and about 25 feet away. Although it supposedly has a range of up to 100 feet, we couldn't get the mouse to work more than 5 feet away. However, the keyboard worked fine, even from a considerable distance. Even when the mouse was working, it seemed to lag on responsiveness. If you didn't move it for a few minutes, it wouldn't immediately respond to motions, like it had gone to sleep. Tried everything and finally had to return it.

I use the keyboard and mouse in my living room, they work great! I'm able to use my widescreen tv to view youtube or other computer-based videos, and I don't have to type using the tv remote.

I sent the Elite set back because I really wanted the Gyration GO mouse with the compact keyboard. I have since received the GO mouse set. I have owned one of the original GO sets for a couple of years and love it. I wanted another set for a different place I stay frequently. I am not as happy with the "improvements" made since my original purchase. The charging cradle doesn't have it own power supply, it depends on a USB 2.0 to charge so the computer needs to be on all the time. It is difficult to tell if the mouse is in the cradle correctly and charging since the big blue LED is no longer on the cradle. The keyboard is different and doesn't have the shortcut keys like the original. The overall quality doesn't seem as good either. It appears to work as advertised.

I had an earlier version of a Gyration air mouse that gave spotty performance when I used it while viewing my laptop's image on my TV in another room. My configuration requires me to sit 25 feet away from my laptop, which is connected to my home theater components in my media closet. I was hoping this one, with advertised greater range, would work better. Unfortunately, it does not. Apparently, walls often blocks the signal.

Also, it is easy to hit the trigger twice, causing activation of the mode that allows the curser to move even when not pressing the trigger. A simple double click of the mouse turns this undesired feature off, but this happens often and is a bit irritating.

I wish it had a charger that plugs into an electrical circuit. With the USB charging system, the air mouse will not charge when the laptop is not on, which in my case is most of the time, because I usually only use the laptop when I am using the air mouse.

The keyboard is great. It provides consistent performance from my vantage point that I described above.

The other reviewers have said good things about this product and I have to agree. There's only one distressing thing: we also have the air music remote and I assumed that one could "mix and match" products from what turns out to be more than one RF generation. Unfortunately the USB RF function of the air music remote and compact keyboard is incompatible with the Air Mouse Elite and low profile keyboard. In a sense, this is the kind of problem that one would prefer--a rich man's problem, and at what I think is even a poor man's price. Unfortunately it's hard to decide whether the air music remote or the air mouse is more useful for how we use our equipment. By the way, I have found Gyration's tech support to be consistently excellent.

Great addition to your home theater / media room. Easy setup and configuration. Works like a charm.
