This review is from: An H.P. Lovecraft Anthology: More Than 50 Weird Tales (Forgotten Books) (Paperback)
This is a print-on-demand shameless ripoff volume--as are all by this publisher. There is no way to know the source of these versions of Lovecraft's stories--many were edited by Farnsworth Wright of Weird Tales for their magazine appearences. If you want to read Lovecraft's stories as Lovecraft wrote them, buy those that have been edited by Lovecraft scholar ST Joshi:
The collections by Arkham House The three Penguin volumes The Library of America edition The Barnes & Noble anthology Unfortunately, the omnibus edition by Gollancz is also composed of texts of uncertain province.

Good, but...,
This review is from: An H.P. Lovecraft Anthology: More Than 50 Weird Tales (Forgotten Books) (Paperback)
This is probably the most complete collection of Lovecraft stories in print (in paper; I see that the complete works of Lovecraft are available for Kindle, but not having Kindle, I can't really comment on that); there are a few major stories missing, but that's going to be true for any one-volume collection of Lovecraft's work.
Mainly, though, I wanted to offer a warning to prospective buyers. The product description says that "We print in large sans-serif font, which is proven to make the text easier to read and put less strain on your eyes," and having read several other books from the same publisher, I can attest that that's usually true. Not in this case, though; in order to fit so many stories into one volume, they made the writing absolutely *tiny"; it's a great strain to read (and no, the problem isn't on my end; I'm still in my twenties, and my eyes are fine), and I'll probably either find the longer stories included here in other Lovecraft collections or read them online.

This is one of the best anthologys next to Necronomicon best weird tales of hp lovecraft.
Infact I own both and sugest buying Necronomicon best weird tales becuase then you have pretty much a complete collection. This book has alot of his older stuff like the alchemist I sugest this for any lovecraft fan I suget smaller anthologys for people who are interested in lovecraft. If you dont want to buy this or you want to read it before you decide to buy it you can go on [...] and read all their books online for free.

Wow, what a great collection of HP Lovecraft at a great price. Ok, it is not a hardback, but the book does deliver LOTS of stories of this master of horror, and in a decent looking package at a decent price. Want to spend a night with Cthulhu and friends? Buy this one now!

When i received my Book in the mail i was ecstatic, i ordered it as a present for a loved one who really wanted a collection of H.P. Lovecrafts stories, so i thought this would be prefect, BUT when i opened the box and took out the book there was a HUGE scratch right up the side of the book ruining the cover. This wasn't caused by the shipping and handling because the cardboard box used had no visible damage at all done to it. Now normally this wouldn't bother me, but i ordered this as a gift, and i wanted to gift something in perfect condition., all and all it arrived ok, i just don't know why some one would package a damaged product...

It's bound to be awesome! I had this shipped to my girlfriend (arrived very timely) so I can't tell you myself about the condition of the book or it's printing, binding, etc. but I can tell you that it claims to have 50 stories from H.P. Lovecraft, that i've perused through it's alleged table of contents via Amazon, and that I've read them all before in smaller compilations and they are almost all top-notch. Lovecraft is my favourite author of all time, his genius rivals Poe, and thus his stories are true masterpieces of macabre madness.
