5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect
Last a long time. I have been using it for years now and it still just as new. It really keeps your sax in top condition!

We just brought my daughter's sax in for new pads and tuning. The technician is an expert sax player and repair tech. He told us these do more damage than they are worth. You are better off running a swab through the horn to get the moisture out and then leave it open. These collect the moisture and hold it there against the pads causing them to wear faster. He suggested just making your own swabs using pieces of old t-shirts.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do Not Use., July 9, 2010

These things will rot out your pads. They tend to increase mold and hold moisture in the sax longer, wearing through pads quickly. They also leave fuzz in the pads. I used one for a short while and found that my pads were sticking all the time and rotting at an alarming rate. Few people swear by them but I tend to swear at them. Not a good investment.

Yes it came. It is what it says it is. It keeps the bell of a sax dry. It is worth the purchase price.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pad Saver Problematic, December 16, 2011
By
This review is from: H.W. Alto Sax Pad-Saver (Electronics)
The pad saver looks like a good idea. One would suppose it would absorb excess moisture that would be dissipated and it would therefore keep the pads dry and uniform. My experience suggest that the lower stack pads (rear edge) or closest to the hinge actually comes in contact the material on the pad saver and cause the pad to perhaps shrink. Inserting a leak light into the body tube of the horn seems to confirms this inasmuch as light can be seen at the rear edge of the pad with the key closed and the pad doesn't seal fully against the tone hole.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Product!, November 30, 2011

I absolutely love this product! It cleans the sax very well! There are specific things you must know though. Don't keep it in the sax, it can break your neck screw because it doesnt have any support to the neck, and it causes mold (just put on top of your sax over the keys) Super glue the cap, it's really easy to take out and you don't want it being stuck in the sax. Over all, I am very please with the product, and on those rainy marching band rehearsals it is a life (pad) saver!

Nice and fat, yet fits into the saxophone easily. Keeps my instrument dry and clean, and easier to play after removing the pad saver. This pad saver is great! All saxophone players should own one.

Simply put...If you have a saxophone you need this saver to prolong the life of your instrument. It simply gets to the moisture that you just would not be able to get to regularly.

5.0 out of 5 stars good product, October 7, 2010
This review is from: H.W. Alto Sax Pad-Saver (Electronics)
It is called "shove it", for a reason, because this is how you use it, but seriously, product is good quality and does the job. What is the job? Keeping your sax pads from rotting and whole instrument maintained fresh and sounding good. High amount of moisture is good for mushrooms, but not necessarily recommended for leather based sax pads. IF it did not work there is possibility that the actual problem is coming from the area - as one major mouthpiece manufacturer said - above the reed. If you are smiling now, then you know, if you are puzzled, stick with the guitar. Live is good, and so is this product.

Can't really say much about this one but anyone with a sax should definitely pick one up for your respective sax.
