4.0 out of 5 stars DJ Honda back with more real MC's
Honda has much respect in the hip-hop underground. This well deserve respect didn't come easy. With the help of artist traveling to Tokyo and getting this kat the exposier he needed by word of mouth, DJ Honda was well on his way to a much derserved debut to the hip hop game. 2.0 out of 5 stars This followup by DJ HONDA was good, but it could be better
While listening to this album, I had some doubts as to whether I got my money's worth or not. Depending upon your musical taste, you will find some good beats on practically every track but you may feel like you expected more. In my opinion, this is one of those albums that you have to try for yourself.

4.0 out of 5 stars DJ Honda back with more real MC's, May 31, 2000
This review is from: H2 (Audio CD)
Honda has much respect in the hip-hop underground. This well deserve respect didn't come easy. With the help of artist traveling to Tokyo and getting this kat the exposier he needed by word of mouth, DJ Honda was well on his way to a much derserved debut to the hip hop game. If you haven't read the review I wrote his first joint, read it and add all of those possitive comments to this CD as well. I don't know where to start on reviewing this the entire CD is great. De La sets the tone of lyrical tongue lashes that this entire CD gives. Al Tariq and Problemz return off Honda's last CD and they both put in work on their tracks. A lot of new underground heads were also featured on this compilation, but none stands out more than the debut of MOS DEF on the track "Travlin Man". Like another reviewer wrote, the chorus to the song sticks in your head. Travlin Man was and still is one of my favorite tracks by Mos Def and should have been put on his Debut release. One of the top 10 lyrical MC's (in my opinion), Keith Murray is also featured on this CD with his L.O.D. comrad 50 Grand and the Beatnuts and Cubin Links are featured as well. This entire CD is tight and I'm glad I cop it when I did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Real sharp, May 28, 1999

I just picked this up, and it's as dope as them mixtapes in Chicago I heard. There are some people I know, but more of the CD is rapped on by some fellas I haven't heard of. They're tight too, though. I never, EVER heard of anything left from the Pharcyde since they dropped that second album in '95 til I heard Fat Lip's interlude solo track. Fat Lip's TIGHT! Also, that Travellin' Man chorus keeps staying in my head, and De La Soul is just dope. This album's real.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't consider yourself a hip-hop fan without this album, February 19, 1999

This review is from: H2 (Audio CD)
Back on the scene with his sophomre album, DJ Honda doesn't disappoint. Once you pop in this album, you need not touch the fast forward button at all. While some tracks do stand out more than others, not one is single song is wack. Standout tracks are "Trouble In The Water", where guests De La Soul drop a rather sentimental song about childhood. Another ill cut is "Team Players" where KRS-One makes a mockery of style biters on a scorching track. Also contained on H2 are some lesser known MC's who still shine, such as No I.D. & Dug Infinite, and more so Problemz. H2 also contains one of the years best songs "Travellin' Man", which features the lyrical dictionary Mos Def, over a mid-tempo, slightly melodic beat. It's arguable whether H2 is a better album that Honda's debut, but one thing remains certain, this album is pure underground hip-hop, being represented to the fullest extent.

5.0 out of 5 stars I got some PROBLEMZ...., September 17, 2006
This review is from: H2 (Audio CD)
I need more DJ HONDA. This is by far the best production from a DJ to give these incredible MC's I've heard in a long time. All of the artists hold it down, especially Problemz & De la Soul. Its cool to hear De La again I remember why I was so into them. I guess what I want to say is this album will re-kindle some of your favorites including some help from Sinista & Roc Raida make this a must own for hip hop lovers.

5.0 out of 5 stars HAI !!!, January 2, 2003
This review is from: H2 (Audio CD)
DJ Honda blesses this album with intense beats. Also, I was not dissapointed with any of the guest appearances. It was a good line up: especially with artists like The Beatnuts (Who the Trifest?) or De La Soul (Trouble In The Water) the albums gonna be good. Well worth checking out.

INCREDIBLE !!! This album is amazingly good !!! It's pure hip hop ! With the best lyricists and DJ Honda's stunning producing skills, this album is A MUST FOR ALL REAL HIP HOP FANS !! The best songs,(both not included in the imported version) are Hai! featuring Sermon, Murray & Redman ; and Travelling Man feat. Mos Def. Finally a DJ worth mentioning !!!

5.0 out of 5 stars his best album, February 1, 2006
This review is from: H2 (Audio CD)
to me this is his best album he stepped his game up on the production, its more dark now, nothing against the 1st one but this album has better production than the 1st one that's what really makes this album special, this is that real hip hop that you can blast in your car,he's underrated and shouldn't be,i hope he gets the attention he deserves, and what makes this album really special is that its an east coast hip hop compilation.recommeded for fans of real hip hop and underground hip hop, standout tracks are Trouble In The Water with de la soul,5 Seconds with black attack (he's nice), Team Players with krs-one and doe i think its jon doe not sure, Blaze It Up with black attack (my favorite track on the album),Go Crazy with S-On my 2nd favorite, and finally my 3rd favorite Around The Clock with problemz (that beat is hot,it has like a japanese mythical feel to it),recommended.
