These interactive pound puppies sure top the ones we had when we were little. Since my son is unable to have a dog of his ownIdue to allergies, I thought this puppy would be a hit with my 3 year old son. He enjoys the dog, but its level of interaction is minimal. The dog barks, whimpers and pants. The reaction does not vary but follows the same pattern each time. I was hoping that my son would be able to learn to "please" the puppy by petting, scratching or rubbing it. While my son still thinks it's cute, he does not play with it much. My 9 month old daughter, however, thinks it is absolutely great, and she has taken over the "dog" duties at our house!
For those parents who cannot stand noisy toys, I highly suggest that you look elsewhere. The dog has an on/off/demo mode switch but no volume control. The toy has withstood several falls from the highchair to the floor. Overall, I think it is a cute toy, but we are all disappointed that they didn't design the dog to be truly responsive.

My daughter fell in love with the puppy at the store, and played with it for maybe a day. Its cute, but not a good toy if you don't like "toys with noise." There isn't a volume switch on it, but you can turn it off. The problem we have with the noise is that it is repetitive, and the wimpers and barks are always in the same pattern, which could be bothersome to an adult. Also, it is a must to keep it off when it is in the child's room because it has a motion sensor nose, so if you walk in the bedroom to check on your child at night, the dog will bark. =/
My daughter plays with if from time to time, but doesnt keep her attention for very long
