Great for the post-swaddling months,

Our baby was able to bust out of a swaddle early on, even with the special velcro-ing (is that a verb?) blankets like the Kiddopotamus & Co. Organic Cotton SwaddleMe - Ivory. With this product, he stays warm all through the night because he can't kick it off. No 2am "I'm cold" crying, plus we don't have to worry about it ending up over his face.

Halo SleepSack Wearable Blanket Organic Cotton,

A cotton baby garment -to me- means something soft and cuddly, what one would want for a baby. This sleepsack may have been made from cotton grown without herbicides and that's a good thing. But this fabric had a hard, sort of machined, finish. Not gentle and soft. I didn't feel it would be a very nice baby gift so I returned it.

Love the sleep sack to keep the covers on baby. When your baby gets too big to swaddle this is the ticket. Otherwise they kick off the blanket. The arm holes are small enough to keep it on as it should be. The zipper zips from top to bottom so it's not in baby's face or neck. Very roomy! Should get a lot of use out of this size. Our six month old is around 18 lbs & 26 inches and has plenty of room to grow in it. I'm not completely sold on the organic deal. I didn't notice it being super soft like the packaging says, "feel the softness".

Great for babies transitioning out of a swaddle,

Our baby was swaddled for sleep up until she was 6-months-old and started rolling over onto her stomach while swaddled. We tried putting her in footie pajamas for sleep, but she seemed a bit restless during the night. It was too drastic of a change from the swaddle she'd become comfortable with. We tried this Halo SleepSack (on top of the pajamas), and she settled right down to sleep. The SleepSack gives her the cosy comfort of a swaddle with the freedom to roll over without any safety issues. Now we use a SleepSack every night. We prefer the standard fabric (rather than the fleece variety). Living in Houston, the Halo fleece fabric is too heavy and warm, even in winter.

nice sleepsack, heavy material,

The organic cotton is heavier than the regular cotton Halo Sleepsacks and the material is not quite as soft as the regular cotton one I have (winnie the pooh green and white), but it is still nice. Since I was shopping for a sleepsack for summer use (sleepsack only, with no onsie or long sleeve tee underneath) when the weather was hot I wanted a light sleepsack, but I was still able to use this one (which would be perfect in the fall). I also like the fleece and lined sleep bags from Gymboree for the winter since they are thicker and have a dual zipper (from top and bottom) with tabs covering so I can leave portions unzipped if my baby may get hot (or while nursing because of the combined body heat).

We love halo sleepsacks for our son. He's been sleeping in them every night since he was a couple weeks old and decided he didn't want to be swaddled any longer. These sleepsacks are the perfect weight for winter or summer. This way my son has a "blanket" keeping him warm without the SIDS risk that blankets bring. I wold highly recommend using a sleepsack if you want your baby to have the added warmth of a blanket while sleeping.

It's ok! Zipper is not easy.,

I bought this sleepsack b/c I like the basic concept but the zipper is awful to try to maneuver in the dark. A lot of times my daughter is hot at bedtime so I just place her on the sleepsack til later when she's cold and then I have to try to do the zipper up when she's sleeping with the zipper right under her chin. I have tried and prefer the PleaseMum brand from Vancouver, Canada. Super soft material and a two-way zipper that starts at the bottom, much easier for night time use. The halo sleepsack is great if you're just going to put it on before the baby is asleep. But as another mom mentioned, it's not near as soft as I expected the organic cotton to be.

We started using this product when our daughter was a newborn (size small) and had to get the larger size as she grew since they work so well.Only one slight annoyance--nighttime diaper changes are a little tricky. |
