Book Description

May 28, 2008
Just who ARE those phone support people you call every day -- you know -- the support reps who give you troubleshooting tips, sales slogans, prepaid phone refills, directory assistance, driving directions and bank balances?

Have you ever wondered where THEY go once you hang up the phone?

In her third novel, HANDLE TiME, contemporary novelist, LiNCOLN PARK, brings you a saucy, searing and HILARIOUS story; which explores the inner workings of an AMERICAN CALL CENTER. Take a guided tour -- if you dare -- through this weird, wild world of worker-bees; which exists in twisted parallel to your own! PARENTAL ADVISORY

Editorial Reviews

Review

Ms. Park's book makes the sitcom, The Office, look like a cake walk. Taking office humor to a whole new level, I commend LiNCOLN PARK on her tongue-in-cheek farce about cubicle culture.

Hey you!  ... read this book!

From the Author

I think you will enjoy HANDLE TiME because it is FUNNY! If you've ever worked in a call center before, you will surely recognize the people in this book -- and the things that go on in the building.

If you have never worked for a call center, and have generally dismissed those 'annoying' telemarketers and 'idiotic' customer reps you have spoken to over the phone -- I think that by reading HANDLE TiME -- you will learn quite a bit about what these people have to go through on a daily basis.

Trust me, I did my research! LOLOL

Anyway, enjoy the book -- it was my pleasure to write it for you.   --LP

More About the Author

LiNCOLN PARK's fecund fables and prolific parables of modern episodes are heralded by an exponentially mounting faction of fervent fans and literati.

LiNCOLN PARK's extraordinary literary style is controversial, cult and cutting-edge. As such, the standard seal of PARENTAL ADVISORY has been placed on the front and back covers of all LiNCOLN PARK-penned books.

5.0 out of 5 stars A novel delving into the weird world of call centers, February 6, 2009
This review is from: HANDLE TiME (Paperback)
While some people would say talking on a phone all day would be their dream job, they don't imagine the reality of it. "Handle Time" is a novel delving into the weird world of call centers. Told in a unique manner designed for nonstop humor and to keep readers reading in a fast paced tale of the everyday grind, Park brings another tale into the genre she calls 'office-lit'. "Handle Time" is a humorous exploration of the people Americans grow to hate but still exist.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-read for lovers of office fiction, May 23, 2009
This review is from: HANDLE TiME (Paperback)
HANDLE TiME Once in awhile, you come by a book which at first glance, seems like something you would breeze right past at the bookstore. But upon closer inspection, you learn that the book is a triumph of imagination, wit and word. HANDLE TiME is such a book. IT IS A FEATURE FILM WAITING TO HAPPEN.

Told in a post modern style of undulating fonts and crack expressionism, HANDLE TiME lets us explore the world of Chase; a girl who works as a Digital Banker for a large, American bank (how ironic that the name of the main character is CHASE... hmmm... ). We follow Chase as she reminisces about the abject insanity she witnessed within the walls of the Bank's regional Call Center while applying for, training, working and finally, leaving the job.

HANDLE TiME combines crisp pace with even crisper satire, solid storyline, side-splitting humor with PARENTAL ADVISORY; and mixes them together for an altogether fresh look at America's headset-heaving, working class. I was loathe to put the book down -- even after finishing it. I simply wanted more.

I recommend HANDLE TiME to any adult who has been jaded about their recent fiction reads; or who needs a good laugh to help them through the employment angst of today's 'Great Recession'.
