1892. HAR-MOAD includes a series of archaeological studies, chiefly from the standpoint of the cuneiform inscriptions. It is the lifework of Miller whose study of ancient languages, especially the cuneiform and kindred tongues, was developed so he might become his own interpreter of Oriental thought. His scholarship was recognized by membership in the American Oriental Society; Archaeological Institute of America; and The Victoria Institute, or the Philosophical Society of Great Britain. The underlying conception of his work includes the restoration to the modern world of the ancient order of things; a vindication of the Old and New Testament scriptures; and a revelation of God_s imminent presence in the affairs of men, in the church, the state, the home, the heart.
