"People from the past can give us pointers for the present!",
By Upstae NY guy (Upstate NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: HARRY HEPCAT's Stories of the 50's (Audio CD)
Aside from a few years pulling duty on a local Long Island Oldies station as their overnight jock, The Hepcat has been rocking for a few decades now, and this collection is the latest in a great series of releases that combine the best of all worlds: Rockabilly, R&B, straight foward Rock & Roll, and even some Doo-Wop touches thrown in for good measure. The "slow" version of "Blue Suede Shoes Forever" moves along at a nice low-gear pace, and it's one of the bigger highlights on this CD.
As they say......GOOBA GOOBA!!!!

Harry Hepcat, a Great Rock 'n' Roll Storyteller,

"Harry Hepcat is a rockabilly rocker from way back who's lost nothing over the years and can tell a story in song with the best of them" -- Don K. Reed, WCBS-FM, New York City

Harry Hepcat -- A Visionary Indeed,
By A Customer
This review is from: HARRY HEPCAT's Stories of the 50's (Audio CD)
"Bless the existence of Harry Hepcat; while he sings and has sung songs of the hip end of the fifties lifestyle, he actually lived it... All of the tracks are about normal topics, but most of them aren't what you'd expect to hear a song of the fifties talking about: diners, tank-like cars, switchblades... It really is odd hearing such performed, because it is the real deal. However, the most interesting section lies in the ten minute plus "Rock & Roll Love Affair", which was penned at the end of the sixties, yet lies in fifties style. It tells the full story of a date, proving to be quite the epic. Listening to it will show you just how similar the story-telling of "the Boss" Springsteen is to Harry Hepcat. Harry Hepcat, a visionary indeed..." Darren Paltrowitz, Rock Critic LIE Magazine
