Pure Paula Poundstone
This is a great video and seems to have come from her earlier work. There is a HBO special out there, still released on tv, that has never seen the transition to video. This is the one I'm waiting for! And though I bought the tape for Paula, it does feel a bit disappointing to find there is NO "stand-up" from Judy Tenuta. Judging from the previous reviews, it...

Disappointed
fuhgettaboutit. The best vintage Poundstone-Rudner-Tenuta-Degeneres tape is still the "Women of the Night" one (which seems to be out of print here, but I still see it in video stores). The one I would love to see on video is Paula at Harvard for the Hasty Pudding performance -- distributors, where are you?

This is the one I'm waiting for! And though I bought the tape for Paula, it does feel a bit disappointing to find there is NO "stand-up" from Judy Tenuta. Judging from the previous reviews, it almost feels like a lottery. Some people get both great comediennes, some don't.

Funny video features Paula Poundstone and Judy Tenuta,

I'm a big fan of Paula Poundstone, but when I received this video, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it includes Judy Tenuta's stand-up as well. These are two very funny women in comedy. Paula Poundstone is fabulous, and Judy Tenuta is hilarious in a non-politically correct way.

THe Paula Poundstone part is great, but I don't know why they have a picture of Judy tenuta on the cover, because she's not on the video I received! The box says 60 minutes, but it's really 30 minutes of Paula Poundstone, and none of Judy T.

There was no appearance of Judy Tenuta on the copy I bought it was purely Paula. I bought it for Judy and was thoroughly disappointed.

I have this taped off of TV and the quality is awefull...I was so excited to see this here. I grabbed it as fast as I could.This is quite simply one of the best stand up specials I have seen. This is great for anyone who is studdying stand up, as I am, or anyone who just wants to laugh. The way she comunicates with the audience is unparalelled by any other commedian I can think of. Her stream of consciencness style make it sound as if she just makes it up right on the spot. A must have, whether you are a Paula Poundstone fan, or just like to laugh! |
