The Easy-to-Carry, Essential Tools of Authentic Manhood!, March 28, 2008
This review is from: The HCSB Men's Fraternity Bible (Imitation Leather)
The pivotal issue in America today is the absence of Authentic Leadership, and that absence is due to the loss of a vision for Authentic Manhood. Men's Fraternity helps men rediscover this vision of who they were created to be.
I don't know of any man who cannot benefit significantly from the truth, substance and encouragement of Men's Fraternity! This Bible provides a way to lay hold of this in a compact, readable form.
Robert has done a fantastic job of distilling much of the incredibly enriching input of his 3-series/60-session Men's Fraternity into the outlines included with this Bible.
I'd recommend this Bible for ANY man. If you haven't been a part of a Men's Fraternity group, you will unlock your door to Authentic Manhood just by reading and studying the outlines. If you have been in Men's Fraternity, reviewing the outlines is a great way to drive the key points more deeply into your heart and life. And having the outlines "packaged" with the Word Of God in compact, portable form makes it easy to always have with you to share with a friend who is struggling with an issue of his manhood.
This Bible should be "standard issue" as the graduation gift to any man who completes all three series of Men's Fraternity.
Suggestions for improvement? Genuine leather cover - I'll wear this one out! And larger print - for my 62-year-old eyes.
P.S. The picture on Amazon is of the box the Bible comes in. The Bible itself is an attractive, manyly British Tan simulated leather.

A Spike for Robert Lewis & Men's Fraternity, March 6, 2008
This review is from: The HCSB Men's Fraternity Bible (Imitation Leather)
This Bible is a perfect gift for any man who has completed any year of the three year curriculum in Men's Fraternity.
All three years of this Life Changing Curriculum are intertwined is this fabulous edition of God's Word.
The print is small but the message is Larger than Life !
You will have all the powerful verses that Robert Lewis uses at your side in this perfect sized edition of the Bible. It's small enough to take with you to work,to school, or on that fishing trip with your Dad or your son !!

7-point print, SIMULATED leather, decent paper, November 21, 2007
This review is from: The HCSB Men's Fraternity Bible (Imitation Leather)
I am an advocate of the HCSB translation and I have completed two years of Men's Fraternity (and working through the third) so I was pretty excited to hear about the Men's Fraternity Bible and I bought two of them; one as a gift for a friend and another one for myself.
I also recently purchased the HCSB Celtic Bible (The Large Print Compact Bible) for my girlfriend. It was a home run. It's small enough to carry in a purse or your glove box. The 'large' 8-point print is more readable and the cover, though it's simulated leather, is more pliable.
The Men's Fraternity version has "British Tan Simulated Leather", NOT bonded leather as this site would have you believe. It's a pretty decent bonded leather imitation, but the leather simulation doesn't have the softness of the leather simulation of the Celtic Bible.
Although the 7-point print of the Men's Fraternity version may be a bit small for some, the paper is a brilliant white and the 'bleed through' isn't bad. It's certainly much better than the ESV Bibles of the same size produced by Crossway.
The three years of Men's Fraternity Material is tastefully inserted at the beginning, in-between the Testaments and at the end of the Bible.
I hope that they eventually come out with a newer version with 8-point type. If you can get by without the Men's Fraternity material and you don't feel that the Celtic imprints are 'girly', I think that the Celtic HCSB Bible would be a better value.
I'd rate this four stars, but I can't alter the "3-stars" that I assigned to it initially.
