The 6-pin connector is not keyed correctly to fit the 6-pin power connector on a PCI-Express graphics card. One of the pins that is fully square should have notched corners, but since it doesn't, it won't fit. Every close-up picture of this connector shows 2 square pins and 4 notched-corner pins. This one has 3 of each.

Even if it could fit, the wiring is wrong. While the product photo looks correct, the actual adapter I received had an extra brown wire from the second 4-pin connector (showing only 2 pins used in the photo), connecting to the pin between the two yellow +12V wires on the 6-pin connector. The brown wire is a ground! The PCI-Express power pinout specifies that the pin should be either a 3rd +12V or no connection, DEFINITELY not a ground.

I can remove the extra wire, but there's nothing I can do to make the 6-pin connector fit. There's just not enough space between pins to fit any kind of tool in there to cut away the square corners that need to be notched. I am ordering a replacement of the 6-pin connector from another source, molex part number 45559-0002.

I wish there was a zero star review for this thing. I should have listened to the previous review. This product is a complete junk. It does not fit. They should not sell a product like this.

If you have a high wattage adapter, buy the right power supply. The adapters don't work. They either melt down or do not provide enough power.

We had looked all over for this small piece at local retailer to no avail, but was very pleased with the price and availability of this item.

Did exactly what it was supposed to do; power my video card via existing molex power. For those doing the same, remember not to use two molex plugs that are on the same lead. Instead choose two that individually go back to your power supply so as not to overload any single line.

Quick Delivery. Used as an adapter for a high end Video Card to Computer Power Supply. To buy this at Radio Shack or Electronic supply retailer was 10-20X more. Satisfied.
