I was hesitant on buying this since it was only $6 and THAT INCLUDED A FW CABLE!
I just bought a $200 Canon printer and that didn't even have a USB cable!

This card worked perfectly. Just insert it and Windows picked it right up.

Works great!

Bought thinking if this worked for a month, I'd be tickled... it inserted onto motherboard easily [Be aware -this will install in the lower back of your computer - this is not one that will go in the front]

Works great - no problems so far. They had a nice software bundled with the card, but no serial number to open it. I got online and HDE has been super and speedy with replies and a s/n to install. I cant be more pleased!

I've struggled for years trying to get video from my Sony camcorder's mini-DV tapes onto DVD. When I connected the camcorder with the USB cord that came with it, my Dell PC didn't recognize it at all. Sony told me that to do it using a computer, I'd have to buy a Sony computer.

I did some online searching and found that I needed a firewire connector and a new cable. I found this one on Amazon for the unbeatble price of $10 including shipping. Others I saw were $30 just for the card. I decided I didn't have much to lose.

I installed the card, connected the camcorder, and there it was! The included software captured the video from the camcorder, allowed me to create titles and menus and burned it to DVD, slowly, but painlessly.

Sony should be ashamed of themselves, and I'll have to think twice before buying another of their camcorders.

Bought this for my Sony camcorder. However,it didn't work out. I basically plugged it in then started PC but no response at all. I also tried plug it in while computer is on and was hoping the Found New Hardware window would pops out. I have windows XP SP2. So after all, I went back to USB connection.

The board installed quickly and easily. Windows 7 detected and installed correct drivers automatically. I didn't use the software or cable that came with the board. I already had video editing software and a separate cable. I conencted the mini-dv camera and it was detected immediately. I've catured a few hours of video with only 1 restart needed. So far this is working great and for $8 you can't beat it.

We bought this so we could transfer videos from our Handycam to the computer. It was cheaper, even with shipping, than many other cables alone. I had never done any openning of a computer, etc. but after searching online for directions it was very easy (no directions with it). The cable is a bit short so the camcorder has to sit on the floor when I transfer, the cable won't reach up to the table.

I purchased for my Windows 7 machine. The computer does not recognize the card when installed. Additionally, the software requires a serial number to complete the installation and it was not provided. Not very plug and play. I've contacted the seller and we will see if they can answer questions or respond. If not, I will try to return.

This card is cheap, unsupported junk. The drivers didn't work and the seller had the manufacturer fix them. After a few weeks of waiting, the repaired drivers also didn't work.

The seller was kind enough to offer me a full refund. This review is not of HDE, they were very responsive and fair.

I came back to Amazon, bought the Belkin and it works like a champ. Save yourself the time and trouble, just get the right tool for the job.

Regardless of brand name after installing pci card this works really well, I'm currently running windows 7 64 bit as well!
