This product doesn't actually work. It does nothing. It doesn't allow you to hook up say, a DVD player with HDMI out to a monitor with VGA in. You may be able to physically attach both ends to ports that look similar in your respective deives, but it doesn't allow you to transmit a video signal from the aforementioned DVD player to ANYTHING AT ALL. If you're looking for an HDMI to NOTHING cable with a VGA cable, and some RCA cables on the other end for decorative effect, then by all means, buy this.

DONT BUY THIS!!! It doesn't work. If you need to convert from hdmi to vga, get a HDMI to DVI cable and a DVI to VGA adapter. You will have to live without sound.

I purchased this cable before I saw these reviews. Thought I could hook my projector to the hdmi output of my Blu Ray player. No joy. When you want to return the cable you will only get store credit for the price of the cable, not shipping, and that's after you pay to ship the cable back.. SCAMMMMM

The guys at Best Buy and Radioshack both told me that HDMI is digital and VGA is analog, so there is no way to go from one to the other without some kind of converter box. I would like to know how they overcame this issue with this cable; based on the reviews, it does not seem like they have.

Also, the price is very low when compared to other devices and cables that convert connection types, which makes me think it is "to good to be true".

Simple. This is a scam.

It cannot work.

HDMI is a digital encoding standard (and a lot more). VGA & composite are analoge standards. A cable can never, ever do that conversion without added electronics (and conversion that way round is hard and expensive, by the way).

This is not going to do what you want. Forget it.

This cable do NOTHING. I drop my money away buyng this. I have a ps3 and a samsung syncmaster 206nw. No way, this cable doesn't work.

Desde Costa Rica este cable no funciona para conectar un puerto HDMI a VGA. Porque HDMI es un señal digital y VGA es una señal analoga, por tanto el cable por si solo no va a servir, a menos que se compre un dispositivo para realizar esta convercion. De otro modo no sirve. Yo lo compre para conectar mi PS3 al monitor, pero para hacer esto es de un puerto HDMI a un DVI, porque el DVI si es una señal digital. Para el sonido, en caso del ps3, el sonido sale por la salida que viene del otro cable y se comfigura el Ps3. En internet hay mucha información de esto.

Since Costa Rica does not work this cable to connect an HDMI to VGA. Because HDMI is a digital signal and VGA is an analog signal, so the cable alone will not do, unless you buy a device to perform this convercion. Not otherwise served. I bought it to connect my PS3 to the monitor, but to do this is an HDMI to DVI because the DVI if a digital signal. For sound, if the ps3, the sound is output from the other wire coming from and set up the PS3. On the internet there is much information about it.

The need to return money every one buys this cable including shipping.!!!
