Buyers Looking for HD Projector Beware!,
By
This review is from: HDMI Video Theater Projector for Wii, ps3, Xbox, DVD, Notebook (Electronics)
If you are looking for a projector to replace your 1080I HDTV, or are planning on upgrading to HD service with a projector, plan on spending a bit more money than this. The NATIVE RESOLUTION of this projector is 800x600. This means, even though it will accept a 1080I signal, it will DOWNSCALE(compress) the image to fit the maximum physical resolution of 800x600. Your resolution will be higher definition than if you were watching on a standard TV, but it will not be a true 1080I picture.
If you are just looking for a cheap projector to hook up for fun, like to a WII, or for kids movie parties or whatever, this is a great deal since it is compatable with just about everything. I just wanted to give you all a heads up, please make sure whatever projector you are buying, meets your 'native resolution' (maximum true definition) needs. [...]

Skeptical at first, but satisfied.,

I purchased the projector for my son's birthday party sleepover. We wanted to have his guest play the Wii outside on the garage door. The delivery was FAST. Set up was easy. The day of the party, I just knew something would go wrong with it......but it didn't. The graphics are awesome in the dark. The input for sound is standard. When you increase the volume too high you hear a humming sound. That problem is fixable. My husband plugged in a speaker that we had in the basement and the kids went wild with the sound and graphics. The projector is compatible with our Wii, PS3, and dvd player. We don't have the Xbox 360 so I don't know how well it would work with that system. Overall I was a bit skeptical, but we are throughly satisfied with the projector.

What a great projector, if only it worked like I wanted it to! For the $350 bucks, it exceeded my expectations. You get a spare bulb (yes, this seller supplies a spare bulb too), 3 cables, remote, lens tissue and a hilariously translated manual. The internal speaker was better than I expected, and the picture looks pretty darn good.
The rub is, it has no zoom, a feature I thought standard and crucial to a projector. The only way to change the size of the picture is to move the projector closer or further from the screen. For this reason, I am planning on returning it. If I had a bigger wall or only used it occasionally, that probably wouldn't be a big deal. The manual keystone correction is also a bit funny. Alas! if only it had a zoom!

Don't bother... get something else worth while,
This review is from: HDMI Video Theater Projector for Wii, ps3, Xbox, DVD, Notebook (Electronics)
Bought this product b/c it seemed to offer so much in one package. But as time passed, I soon realized I made an mistake, like seriously I did! It cuts out on it's own, then back on a few secs later. After a few weeks, it had trouble even turning on, sometimes waiting 5-10 minutes for it to do so. Oh, and can't forget the annoying orange halo in the center of the screen... yeah, it's cheaply made. As time passed, yet again something else caught my eye... dust, yes dust build up on the screen image itself. Tried using compressed air to fix the problem, but to my surprise again, nothing. Please, save your time.

This is an awesome product for the price. Amazing really with hdmi, the two downfalls are the replacement bulbs are really hard to come by and expensive. The other is the pixels are quite large making it a little hard to read writing on the screen. On the up side, this unit does have a television in it, which is hard to find. I have had this unit about a year and has performed as expected for the price you can't beat it.

I was pretty skeptical about this projector too, but trust me when I tell you it's ALL GOOD. Setup is as easy as setting up a TV. Just plug it in, connect your video/sound source, point it at the wall/screen, and it's on like Donkey Kong! I connected my bedroom media PC with a 30' HDMI cable (purchased RIGHT HERE on Amazon.com *thumbs up*) and ran the cable out to my backyard last night and the picture was perfect. It's not "high def", but it's still a great picture.
I live about an hour from the seller's Southern California distribution warehouse and they let me come by and pick it up in person after work yesterday. Shout-out to Star in China and Will in CA for setting it up!.

For the money this is a nice Projector. It does not display in 1080i only receives in 1080i. a little hard to understand if your not in the industry. As long as the BULBS last as long as they say they will,6000 Hours, yes buy this.I use it for outside movie night, Its FUN.

I'm quite impressed with this projector. The actual brandname is "Visionari" and this is for the model "VVME-HTPCD-V01" so there are no mix-ups in reading my humble review. If you want a projector that is very affordable [compared to many others] and using it for watching videos -- it's great. It's about 12 inches by 10 inches not heavy but not light. 2 built-in speakers in the back, power & basic menu function buttons on top, multiple inputs on the side with a choice of component A/V in, composite A/V in, VGA input, HDMI interface -- but when it comes to VGA or HDMI, like another reviewer said a more expensive projector would probably be a better choice. I just use it for basic DVD, camcorder and VHS viewing [yes, I still use VHS for odds & ends!]. It has a remote that uses 2 "AAA" batteries that aren't included. It has a VERTICAL & HORIZONTAL "image reverse/flip" for hanging upside-down on a projector-mount from a ceiling or rear projection -- or even using with 45-degree mirror in front of the lense to project the image on your ceiling for lazy "lay on your back" viewers like me[!] You can switch between the older "4:3" image size or newer "16:9" but either image is still within the over-all "4:3" projected image area. It doesn't adjust "wider" with same height like a previous projector I have. Hope this makes sense to everyone; it's actually a "letterbox" mode. Nice picture "resolution" [ok, so I use the OLDER word!] nice "definition" in my opinion with seperate "BRIGHTNESS" "CONTRAST" "HUE" "SATURATION" & "SHARPNESS" options -- to name a few! Anything else this projector does I don't know or use it for. Growing up decades ago with a B&W "rabbit ear" TV set with no remote that only got 8 or 9 channels [oh, seems like ages ago!][:-)] is still impressive to me. That's my humble review. |
