DSE is probably one of the most knowledgable people on this subject. He is also one of the most giving of his time and incredibly useful advice.
I read this book and found it very useful to help me get a handle on HDV editing. Be aware, HDV editing is not for beginners, there's a good learning curve and requires a fair amount of PC horsepower. But for those wishing to take on the challenge, you'll likely have this book close by.
