I purchased two Hella 4.75" Work Lamps for the rear of my Kubota RTV900 cab. At night, I had no lighting while backing up.

Truthfully, one of these would have been enough, as they are not only bright but also diffuse their light over a wide area. I bought two because my cab roof was pre-drilled for two optional Kubota work lamps, and because I knew two would just look better on the RTV.

The bulbs are replaceable, and not much can damage these rubber housings. They are also well sealed to the elements. Only one wire is required for hook-up as the metal adjustable attachment provides grounding. These are also the same work lights truckers have used on the rear and sides of their cabs for years - with proven reliability over time in all weather.

You can mount these just about anywhere, in any position, and the well sealed wire has a rugged cover that holds up well - although it is only about six or nine inches long. All bolts, nuts, and lock washers are included in the hardware. This is a zero maintenance light until it burns out - and it's inexpensive enough to just replace the entire assembly. The H3 55 watt bulb is replaceable and the lens is heavy glass to take most knocks without breaking. Its timeless design and appearance doesn't look bad either.

Update - 9/5/2011:

I've now had these installed to the cab roof of my Kubota RTV900 for over a year, and the lights still work and look like new - with no moisture having ever entered them. That's not bad, as my Kubota sits outside exposed to the elements 24/7 here in the southeast USA. I just wish I could say the same for the more expensive Hella Optilux H71020801 driving lights I mounted to the front of the cab roof at the same time. Anyway, all of my Hella lights are still working great after remaining in the weather for almost a year and a half.

I attached these underneath the rear bumper of my Excursion for use as additional back-up lights. They are bright and cast a very wide beam. Excellent view for backing up in any situation. The one problem I had involved one of the rubber housings leaking during a rain storm. The water leaked in somewhere and filled the rubber housing to the point the water ran into the sealed beam from the open back, where the bulb is installed. This ruined the silver coating on the inside surface of the lamp. I drilled some "weep" holes in the bottom of the housing and the problem has not recurred. The light output was minimally diminished so I do not see a need to replace the lamp.

I wanted a brighter back-up light on my van and this one was exactly what i was looking for. Not too bright but plenty bright enough.
I use this light hanging upside down under the bumper. After a winter of lots of rain the inside of the light became a quarter full if water, not good.

I got these lights with the intent of mounting them inside the ROPS of the tractor. The build quality of these appears to be solid, in fact, better than what I could find in local farm stores.

They are grounded through the mounting base, so don't expect a grounding lead.

They are not mounted yet, but I did verify that they illuminate. Their output is typical for a utility light.

So I wanted some additional lighting for off-soad driving but didn't want to spend $120 for the cheaper Hella lights. I had seen these lights on a work truck before and knew them to be good and bright. So I bought four, installed them on my brush guard and voila! The night becomes day! Very bright fairly attractive and in the unlikely event someone decides to steal them, another set can be had for $48!

I have 4 mounted under my custom overland LandRover Disco. One facing each tire, on two switches, one for the drivers side, one on the passenger. Great to use on the rough track at night. My Disco lives on Hawai'i and when out on the lava in the dark, its REALLY dark and being able to see each tire is very useful.

I purchased the lamp to use as a backup lamp for a vehicle without one. It has exceeded my expectations for it's intended purpose. I really like it.

Used this light for extra back up light on my JEEP XJ 1990, one is more than enough light. Mounted underside of steel rear bumper factory hole. Recommend removing paint off mounting point for light return-ground path; I added a star washer also.

(01/02/11)**Update on the Reverse light: flooded with water due to being mounted upside down on the bottom of bumper, Water traveled on the lights power wire into housing. Replaced light and added RTV to wire/housing area on new light.

Also added two utility lights inside the rear hatch of the JEEP for work lights. This is a relay, wire and switch system due to location and duration of light use.

Added 2 lights as fog lights on top of front bumper; changed the clear bulbs to H3 yellow Nokya Arctic Yellow 2500k-Output 12V 55W Actual = 70W.

Rugged rubber casing with strong easily adjustable metal bracket. Made a great auxilary light on my snow thrower. Hella has always made quality products.

I purchased this rugged light to use as a backup light on my Dodge Cummins 4X4, it works great and should hold up over the long haul.
