Product Description

Here's a tricycle that handles all terrain conditions - lawns, dirt roads and pavement. Pneumatic, knobby tires help your child get around on trails that would stump a regular trike.

Customer Reviews

It is well built and very sturdy.

It is made out of strong components but it needs a better way of connecting the vertical shaft were the seat attaches to the rear weels.

You can find this particular tricycle sold under many different names. Here it is Grip. At Tractor Supply stores it is sold as Country Kids 10 inch Tricycle. On Ebay you see sold as Western Express. It's all the same bike made by an oriental company but sold by different companies.

But that doesn't really matter. What does matter is that it is a great tricycle for about $50. It is all steel, not a bit of plastic on this thing. Rubber tires. Nice large seat. Decent hardware comes with it to assemble, but you could always use better nuts and bolts if you really wanted to...it's all standard sizing. What you normally get for $50 is a mostly plastic piece of junk. With this trike, you actually get a well-made metal toy that will last for a long time.

Let me point out one thing. It says ages 3-8 on the package. My three year old can't ride it. On the highest setting, closest to the pedals he still can't reach. My four year old can ride it pretty well, but it's still somewhat large for him. They love, however, that there is a little bar across the back that makes up the "rear axle" that they can stand on so one kid can drive and one can ride along in standing position. The tires on this thing are huge, especially the front tire. I haven't owned it long enough to tell how the tires will hold up over time, but they seem to be on par with just about all the other inflatable tire-type toys out there, if not better.

Easy to assemble out of box. Sturdy. Won't easily tip over. Definitely large and rugged enough if you live in the country or need an "off road" trike. I got it for $50, so search around a bit if the price is higher than that.

Update 2012: It's now April 2012 and I still have this tricycle.

We purchased this tricycle for my handicapped son. He is 9 years old but small for his age...about the size of a 5 year old...and was too big for traditional tricycles, but not capable of balancing on a regular bike (even with training wheels). This trike was perfect for him! It is the perfect size for him now and there is room for him to grow. It is well built and very sturdy. The larger tires make it easy for him to pedal and go over different surfaces...cement, gravel and grass.

Our son loves his new tricycle and wants to show it to everyone when they come over even if they have seen it already. (-; There are three areas that could be improved: the handle bars move a little bit and have to be adjusted so that the wheel and handle bars line up; it needs a basket/box on the back for treasures; and it needs to be available in more retail stores - we paid half the price of the tricylce just to ship it.

I would buy this tricycle again and would recommend it to a friend; the biggest advantage over tricycles in the stores is the pneumatic tires (they are the kind that you fill with air) - the ones in stores tend to have plastic tires that split down the middle and cost almost as much to replace (have to be ordered and shipped from the manufacturer) as a new tricycle would cost.

I bought this trike for my 5 year old grandson. Although he already rides a two-wheeler, he enjoys this trike very much. This a heavy duty trike with air inflatable tires, which greatly improves the ride and speed. It is easily ridden on gravel and rough surfaces with minimal effort. I highly recommend this trike for any parent who needs a trike for the previously mentioned applications.

The construction on this trike is bullet proof. Except for pedals, tires, and seat, it's all steel construction. Very solid. Our only quibble is that the handle bars are a bit high for smaller children who have the seat at lower settings, making it awkward to steer for those on the bottom end of the advertised size range. All in all, very good value for the money.

Very nice trike, built like a brick, would last forever. But that's how long it will take my kids to grow into the bike, they are smaller kids, but the bike is HUGE! That's the reason I gave it four stars not five.

My eight year old has been wanting a tricycle, but most of them sold in general are too small for her. This one is great! Sturdy and works great in our gravel driveway. I'm pretty sure she'll be "too big" for it in another year or so, but it was totally worth buying for her to enjoy for a couple years. And it seems well made enough to last until my older children have babies, so I'll keep it around for grand children!
