Connection of this speaker unit with my 2nd Generation iPod Touch was very unreliable. I'd estimate that I was able to get sound out of the unit only twice in about 20 tries to seat the Touch onto the top of the speakers. Using the adapter that came with the Touch did not help. I also didn't like that the power switch is on the back. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product.

For now, I just purchased a "mini to RCA audio cable" and can now easily connect the earphone jack on the iPod to my home stereo for great sound. This does not charge the iPod however.

I ordered the Satechi iPod system for my Classic iPod so I could take my music with me wherever I go. It's so easy to use, has a HUGE sound, and great speakers in such a small unit. Got this for my husband for Father's Day. He wanted a sound system on the deck for his iTouch. This works perfectly. If you want it to rock a party doesn't get loud enough but it is certainly load enough to have audio outside on a large deck.

I paid twenty dollars more for this in June 2008 than it is selling for today and I'm not surprised they are selling it for less to get rid of these models. The unit I received had a lot of hissing problems and I sent it back in Sept (the delay was purely my fault as I was busy--it did make the sounds out of the box.) The replacement unit seemed fine at first. Sound quality was adequate for my needs except the top volume could have been a little louder. All of that means absolutely nothing when you cannot plug your iphone in anymore because the dock broke off and fell inside--and this is with very gentle moderate use! So the second unit is defective as well. When I contacted Satechi about a refund, they told me they could exchange it but the refund period was over. That would be fine with me if I hadn't already returned it once. I would think they would understand my reluctance to exchange it for another one and just give me my money back! Really disappointed in this product and can only say, buyer beware!

I purchased this as a gift. It did not work properly. Contacting the company that shipped the unit was difficult. I will never again buy a product from this company again. It was very poor qualtiy. The sound was bad and then it stopped working.

I purchased one of these units back in December of 09 for my son's Christmas and it did not function properly. I contacted the company and they sent me a new one which works great! My son loves it and it puts out good quality sound and is perfect in size.
