I stumbled across the HIGH PEAK South Col 4 Season Backpacking Tent while digging around the Internet looking for a new tent. I'm a Boy Scout leader, so we camp EVERY month. Warm weather tents are easy, it's the cold that separates the herd. I bought this tent days before our December camp out. It arrived while I was away. Just missed using it for the first time! I'll update this review after the next camp.

Since you really don't want to setup a tent for the first time in the cold and dark, I did a dry run in my garage and found the setup to be very easy. If you've ever put up a flexible pole tent, you could do this in the cold and the dark without worry. The oversized zippers, large rainfly clips, seam treatments, etc. indicate attention to detail. This is a very impressive tent. Made even more so by the great price!

The service from the supplier CampingMaxx has been excellent. Above and beyond what you expect from most online retailers. I've been recommending CampingMaxx to my friends and associates even before I've used the tent in the field! I will highly recommend them to our Troop committee for consideration when we need new camping equipment.

Bought for weeklong trip to high sierra's.. nightime lows in the 30-40f's.
Decent size foyer's, bit tight for this tall guy side to side for sleeping but ok.. very well made..

You can't buy a footprint for this tent (that I could find) so buy a heavy duty tarp ($10) and cut to size.

A definite value..9.5/10!

Well insulated. Sturdy. Keeps the rain out. Worked excellent for hunting. The vendor was wonderful, and is a small family business. Had nothing but a good experience with them. I would definitely buy from them again ([...]).

I have used this tent with my son in boy scouts -- cold weather, thunder storms with driving rain, coldest has been 22 degrees -- tent has performed very well - zipper have held up, no leaks, and poles are of very good quality metal. I have bought a second one!!

I ordered this tent to use when I took my 6 year old (who can't really be of any help putting the tent up or taking it down yet) cub scout camping. It is lightweight and fits in a small, easy to carry duffle bag. Though it didn't come with any instructions, it was very easy to figure out how to put it up, even with the rain fly. It is truly a 3 person max tent for sleeping or maybe if was raining would work to sit on the floor to play cards or games. The dry gear storage is really nice along with the pockets and storage loft that keeps "stuff" out of the way of the sleeping/sitting room. If you need something small and compact to take on a hike or easy for one person to put up on their own, this is a great tent (and a great value compared to so many others I looked it preparing for this campout).

Set this tent up for the first time, also fist tent set up in at least 5 years, and it was a snap! Very versatile and strong, the dogs even tested the flooring out and even with overly excited tail-wagging the floor held up. Can't wait to set it up somewhere other than my back yard!
