Dave Morris is a bestselling author - in fact, he was 1990's top-selling author in the UK.

In addition to having written a string of adventure novels and role-playing gamebooks for older kids and young adults, he is also an award-winning videogame designer with two Top Ten hits to his name.

As a mentor in the American Film Institute digital content lab, he has worked with partners like NBC and Microsoft to create new forms of entertainment that fuse the best of traditional storytelling and interactivity. As a scriptwriter he has worked for the BBC, Endemol, Carlton, Pearson and Flextech.

All of these skills of drama, visual storytelling, interactive design and new media come together in his epic 900-page graphic novel saga Mirabilis, part-funded by Random House, which was launched in both digital and print media in early 2011.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Forgotten Children's Gem in the TMNT Collection, March 20, 2010
This review is from: SKY HIGH (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) (Paperback)
How can anybody forget the loveable and adventurous Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! This book is but one of a four book series put out in 1990 during the height of their first, extremely popular children's cartoon series.

This book is a complete story, which you really couldn't find in the TV episodes. The tale starts off as the four student turtles named after famous renaissance artists (Donatello, Leonardo, Michealangelo and Raphael) are being trained in the martial arts by their mutant rat ninja master, Splinter. Then, while breaking for lunch, Splinter learns of an evil plot by their arch nemesis: the Shredder! The Shredder's plan involves him going into space and taking over a space station so that he can set up a devise to bring his evil soldiers to earth from dimension X. The turtles follow Shredder in hot pursuit by stowing away on a space shuttle. Ultimately, in space, Michealangelo and Shredder have a final showdown where Michealangelo's underwater ninja training comes into great use. The Shredder was defeated, but alas, got away to cause trouble for another day.

This and the other 3 books of the series (Red Herrings, Buried Treasure and Six-Guns and Shurikens) were great books in their time for young readers who were fans of the show. These books were definitely more challenging than the TV show episodes, which make up for the lack of visual stimulation. I still believe that modern kids will enjoy this tale. I'm very happy to recommend it!
