1.0 out of 5 stars HISTORY OF THE NATION OF ISLAM
I would not have expected to ever received a book so badly written from a company like Amazon. Is there no one at this company to scan books before they are put out there for the public. I feel as if my money for this piece of trash was stolen. I have read books that were poorly written but this comes not near that.

5.0 out of 5 stars SERIES OF INTERVIEWS WITH ELIJAH MUHAMMAD, December 23, 2010
Elijah Muhammad (1897-1975; born as Elijah Robert Poole) led the Nation of Islam from 1934 until his death. This book was published posthumously in 1993, and is presented in a question-and-answer format.

Here are some quotations from the book:

"And so, I did begin teaching, that the Son of Man, or the second coming of Jesus is present. This is Him now, here among us. But He (Wallace Fard Muhammad) didn't allow me to go far with that kind of teaching while He was present, He told me, 'You can do that after I am gone.'... He said, 'When I am gone,' He said, 'then you can say whatever you want to about Me.'" (Pg. 3)

"And His mother He (Wallace Fard Muhammad) says, was a white woman, His father, He used the word He says, 'My father went up in the mountains to choose My mother in order to get a child that looked like the people, that had this particular member among them so that He could get among them, more successful. And that He was the One. His mother he says was a white woman, and His father was a black man." (Pg. 6)

"And the white man we say is the devil. Why, because of he's weak physically coming into being from original man, or aboriginal people of the Earth." (Pg. 18)

"I think the justice is after Malcolm and that pretty soon he will be on his knees trying to crawl back to just that what he left." (Pg. 34)

Q: You may recall when I asked this question that related to the manner of race and color, I had asked you whether a white man can become a Muslim, and had said to me by nature he could not?"

A: He could not. (Pg. 58)

A: When we say that the white man can't be a Muslim, it don't mean that he can't believe it, it means that by nature he cannot believe it." (Pg. 64)

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book about the Nation of Islam, June 9, 1999

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad was the greatest Black man in America! He accomplished so much to uplift the Black man and woman in America during a time when we had low self esteem and low self image. He helped us understand who we really are, where we came from and our glorious history.
