The kids love it!,
By
This review is from: HIT Favorites: Frosty Friends (DVD)
Bought this video to celebrate the newly fallen snow in MN. My boys, ages 3 and 5, absolutely love it -- they actually sit still and watch it! Barney has a great Christmas lesson -- that giving is more important than receiving. Thomas the Train and Bob the Builder are both episodes with snowy themes. As their mother, my only grumble is with the "Pingu" show... it is nothing but pure nonsense! The characters don't speak any intelligible or understandable language -- they just grunt -- and the plot focuses on the main character playing pranks on his buddies (meanwhile the penguins who appear to be adults are making wine! not exactly a kid theme -- although my kids don't understand what they're doing). It's just weird. BUT, that episode is only about 5 minutes long. Wish they hadn't included that. Otherwise a great video!

Great Wintertime Tales!,
This review is from: HIT Favorites: Frosty Friends (DVD)
Frosty Friends is a new DVD from HIT Entertainment featuring some of Aidan's favorite characters. There are six holiday episodes each staring Barney, Bob the Builder, Pingu, Thomas & Friends, Kipper, or Fifi and the Flowertots. Each episode has a Christmas theme and is perfect to add to any Holiday collection, but I honestly think Aidan would watch this DVD even in the summertime! When I showed Aidan this DVD he was immediately excited as he is all of the sudden in love with Bob the Builder, with Thomas in a strong second place. I thought this DVD was super cute and I love how it has a little bit from each character, which opened up Aidan to some other characters that he hasn't seen before and it keeps Gavin interested since he likes Barney. It is also a nice that episodes have themes and teach great lessons!
