If the above reviewer bothered to look at the specs and product description it clearly states for .380's and 9mm. and listed many manufacturers and models. I have a Walther ppk/s, FEG (SMC) and a Bryco 38 (.380) and this product works flawlessly for all three. The LULA Universal speedloader I bought cost more then twice as much, was too large, cumbersome and could not be used. I gave it to my brother for his .45 and he loves it. For my .380's and 9mm's the HKS 943 works great and for a great price.

I can see how this would be a big help to anyone who has problems getting enough downward pressure to load new stiff 7 round magazines. But its not ideal...
I ordered this to reload Bersa Thunder 380 magazines. The construction of the loader is about what you'd expect for 12 bucks ! Cheesy! Its made from cheap injection molded plastic parts. Its held together by a thin metal clip/ring which is held on by tiny serrations. The "instructions" , printed on the back of the wrapper, are literally incomprehensible. Parts and places are referred to but there is no diagram identifying them, just a teeny illustration about 1/2 inch square. HKS dont bother to print separate instructions to match the model you purchased. So until you notice that , you are trying to decode and follow the wrong set of incomprehensible instructions. You eventually will divine what you are supposed to do, and loader does work. The function of the loader is to allow you to hold the magazine and exert downward pressure on the cartridges already in the magazine with one hand while you use your other hand to slip another cartridge into the loading ramp. When you get the hang of it, you can slip new cartridges in effortlessly and without any resistance from the spring in the magazine. ********************************************************************************* Hints: Its best to insert the first cartridge by hand before you put the magazine in the loader. Adjust the front retaining bar and the lower retaining bar on the loader to hold the magazine snugly. Grasp the loader and magazine like a gun. Press the lever on the loader with your thumb to push the arm of the loader down on the top cartridge. You dont push down on the "follower" itself. The technique is to use the leverage of the loader to push down the top cartridge just enough to slide in the next cartridge without pressure from below. Use your free hand to slide the new cartridge in about half way along the length of the cartridge below. Do NOT leave enough space for the new cartridges to drop down into the magazine. When the skirt of the new cartridge reaches the lips of the magazine, you release the arm on the loader.THIS makes room for the cartridge to be seated all the way to the rear of the magazine... using your thumb. Then you lower the loader arm back onto the new top cartridge. Shampoo . Rinse . Repeat. Sounds really complicated but its pretty simple after you see how it works. ******************************************************************************** Some of my factory Bersa Thunder 380 mags are the single stack 9 round version, with an extended "toe". They dont fit in the loader because the toe sticks out too far. That is a disappointment, since I only really wanted "help" loading the higher capacity magazines which have proportionally more resistance than the smaller magazines. Five stars for function, price and to get you to read the hints!

I found this product just the needed tool to reload my .380 mags. when you shoot a lot, and find yourself doing a series of reloads, your thumbs will begin to tell on you; and this gadget saves that wear & tear.My only complaint is perhaps a broad one, and not particular to this Manufacturer or their particular product: This thing should be made of a good aluminum alloy rather than plastic! Sorry, but there's no way anyone is going to convince me it can't be done, or that plastic will hold up just as well. Other than that, the product does the job; it's just a question "For how long?" 4-stars.
