Product Description

From the Manufacturer

AmuseAmaze brings a whole new dynamic to board game play. More than just a spelling game, AmuseAmaze is a fun-filled lexical labyrinth of quick words and quicker wits. It is a word game where words don't have to be the biggest to be the best. Players form words by using the letter tiles and the letters printed on the board, moving their pawn from the first letter in their word, through each adjacent letter in turn, to the last letter. Players move through the maze, attempting to land on the colored target spaces, collecting the associated target card. The first player to make their way to the set number of colored target spaces, and reach the end of the maze either at the bottom row of the board in a 3 to 6 player game, or one of the spaces adjacent to the start space in a 2 player game, wins the game. The game is suitable for ages 8 and up. There are 2 player, 3 player, and 4 to 6 player variations. The unique 18-part game board has more than 6 billion possible set-up combinations, so never the same game twice.

Scrabble with a twist July 4, 2008
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
I recently got to play a demo of this at a Convention in my area, and I purchased it the same day. This game is scrabble on steroids. The concept is a simple one, be the first to spell your way from one end of the board to the other, while stopping into three of four "check-point" locations. Spell a word with 5 letters or more? Use a rare letter in your word? Go again (you only get two extra moves a turn, so you can't "run" the board). As if that wasn't hard enough, there are random "hedges" placed throughout the board, preventing access to certain letters.
While this game is challenging for people of all ages and all intelligence levels, it's FUN for those same people in any combination. I have played with a 40-something and a twelve year old in the same game and everyone had fun. I highly recommend this as a great group game.

Easy to play, hard to master November 25, 2008

Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
My 11-year-old son and I played this at a toy and game convention last weekend, and we also bought the game the same day. He understood much faster than I did that grabbing new letters up as you move across the board is important to progress. We got just three minutes of instruction and were able to play a game immediately. Game took about 20 minutes but could be much longer. And he won! Lots of variations and because shorter words are sometimes better for game progress, almost any age can play, but I would recommend 8 years at least. I plan to order it for other family members. Fun!
