The introduction was long, but informative. The illustrations and paintings appeared to be quality reproductions. Beginning with Chapter One, the text was almost impossible to read as the author's academic style seemed to be more concerned with splicing together research notes than of actually writing clear and informative sentences and paragraphs. This reader would therefore not recommend its purchase to anyone except another academic who needs reference material for their masters thesis in art history.
