4.0 out of 5 stars This was a surprisingly good suspense book!
I have not read a Jackie Collins book in a while, and had a little trouble starting this one. However, once the characters were developed, I was totally hooked. I truly had trouble putting this one down after a few pages. I was so involved I found myself wanting to try and tell the cops to protect Jordanna and Cheryl, a long time before they knew that's what they...

2.0 out of 5 stars Nah
In the beginning I thought that she introduced too many characters. There were really only a few characters in the storyline towards the end. The suspense really picked up in the last couple of chapters, but it couldn't hold my interest through the whole book, due to too many people and not enough intriguing storyline.

I was glad to see some family reconciliations taking place, too, at the end of the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars "More Hollywood Stories In The Hollywood Sequels", January 17, 2012

This review is from: Hollywood Kids (Paperback)
Jackie Collins started her "Hollywood" franchise way back in 1983 with her blockbuster book "Hollywood Wives". In this outing Jackie focuses on the young of tinsletown, their troubles and their eventual fall.

Published in 1994 "Hollywood Kids" deals with the young born into the wealth and glamour of Hollywood. Among the great cast of characters are Jordanna who doesn't take life seriously and lives on the wild side; Bobby who becomes one of the most popular young male movie leads of his time; Cheryl who decides to become a Hollywood madam and Grant who falls prey to Hollywood's underground while trying to make it big as an agent.

All the characters in "Hollywodd Kids" are as different as night and day and not only are they exciting, well-defined and involving, but what makes the novel is how a serial killer is cast upon them and their lives become turmoil.

An A+ book and one of Jackie's best!

5.0 out of 5 stars Those rotten spoiled Hollywood kids...., September 14, 2000
Jackies done it again with a true to life Hollywood book. She's already hit the husbands and wives. Now those snotty little kids of Hollywood got a whole book to themselves. I love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars MY FAVOURITE "HOLLYWOOD" BOOK, March 8, 2001
Dynamite. Jackie Collins has done it again. A book you will enjoy. Full of witty dialogue and sizzling sex, the way only Jackie Collins can deliver. One of her best books.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hollywood Kids is good but...., March 28, 1998
By A Customer
Jackie Collins is an excellent writer, but Hollywood Kids is not the best I have read by her. It could be better, but if you need a "Collins" fix this will do. But it is nothing like her previous efforts.

3.0 out of 5 stars Jackie Collins is an out-of-touch goddess, December 10, 1997
By A Customer
I LOVE Jackie Collins but she really needs to update her sense of style. Her 70's books are dead-on in terms of fashion and dialogue, but she doesn't have an ear or eye for the younger generation. It's still a fun book, but in the same way that California Dreams can be a fun TV show.

4.0 out of 5 stars Where Does She Get These Ideas From?, March 7, 1999
For a while, I gave up on Jackie Collins because her readings had become predictable. Basically, most (if not all) of her settings revolve around rich kids getting in trouble; self-centered Hollywood celebraties and insane fans. However, her style of writing is incaptivating and still makes me want to pick up her books once in awhile. Collins is a temporary addiction.

Hollywood Kids has the same type enscenerio: glamor lifestyle, careless Hollywood parents and bratty grown up children. But, I really got into it toward the middle of the book when the girls got into trouble (like always), I think that's what makes any book exciting. This time trouble looked for them--which was refreshing for a change and that is why I liked this book.

There were too many characters that I couldn't keep up with until later on as I read--because the girls became the focus in the story. Since I was expecting the Collins' usual, the first few chapters were slow and boring. It got better.

I would like to read about REAL characters for a change--no more about Hollywood spoiled-rotten children, celebraties and their parents.

Overall, Collins is still a great writer.
