HR king,

: First let me start by saying that I've played the baseball games released this year for both the game cube and the PS2. Overall HR king is the best arcade baseball game. The graphics are excellent. It is a an arcade game and not simulator. If you want simulation then All star baseball is the game for you. HR king is a great game. But you do need patience to play the game at first. Once you get used to it and it's few glitches it should be a fun game. For example the infielder is about to field and ground ball when all of sudden instead of the ball going into the glove it passes by the fielder and then it jumps back into the glove. Like I said it takes some getting used to. Considering that this the first year for this game it's not bad. By next year I'm sure they will fix these glitches. The batting is fairly easy. You just have to get the timing right. Graphics: Wonderful. These are the best looking players in any baseball game made up to now.The detail of the stadiums is awesome. The over all look is great. The menus have an arcade look to them. What can I say The graphics make the game. I guess it helps to have a televsion with progressive scan. This game supports this TV feature. Sound: The crack of the bat is so sweet!! everything else is mediocer. The play by play is very very very dry. But then again I don't buy baseball games for the announcers. This could be fixed by next year.

best since mlb 200,

I nhave played many next gen baseball games on ps2 and all star 2002 on game cube and still i thought i would never play a better game all around than mlb 2000 on ps 1. I have now found a better game. Home Run King is by far the best baseball game I have ever had the pleasure of playing. Graphic wise I was blown away, rendered stadiums, player batting stances, pitchers deliveries it is all here. I had a little trouble at first batting but it gives you a handicap option until you get used to it. Fielding is also a tad bit difficult at first but with time you'll be making lunge grabs with Nomar like a pro. One thing i noticed though is the game is labeled an arcade style big scoring game, i dont really agree with that, I have played about 20 games now and have hit one homer, and that was with Jave Lopez, not exactly a long ball hitter you know. Still Home Run King should keep most baseball gamers very happy. Gameplay-4.5 Graphics-5 Controls-4.5 Replay-5

This game has got to be the worst game I have played in my life. If I could have given this game lower than one star, then I would have. Its so unrealistic. Every time you swing, no matter how out of time it is, you get a homerun. In the first inning that I played, I got 34 points. No offence, but those people who gave this game a high score must have never really played the game. Anyway, don't buy this game!!!!!!!!!!!

Great!,

This game's great. It needs some getting used to and then you get the hang of it. There are four different games modes: Exhibition, Season, Playoffs, and Home Run Derby. You can also trade players, create players, and edit teams. Hitting is a little difficult but not very hard. Commentary isn't good but I don't buy the game to listen to announcers. And if you want to, there's something called playing aids for pitching, batiing, and fielding. They can be used to make things easier or harder. For Example: If you made the batting aid meter full, your batting cursor will be a lot bigger. Or if you made the fielding aid meter empty, You do all of the work in the field.

Terrible!,

This game is terrible! The only good thing about this game is the graphics! You can hit every pitch and there is no fun to this game because you hit a hoomerun every other batter. When you play your friends the final score is usually 30-29! IT IS SOOOOOOO BORING! A rent if anything!

I AM A BASEBALL FANATIC. I LIVE AND BREATH FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL TO COME AROUND. I HAVE PLAYED JUST ABOUT EVERY BASEBALL GAME EVER MADE FOR ANY SYSTEM. FOR CHRISTMAS MY BEST FRIEND IN THE WHOLE WORLD GOT ME A GAMECUBE. I WENT RIGHT OUT AND BOUGHT TWO BASEBALL GAMES MLB SLUGFEST 2003 AND ALLSTAR BASEBALL 2003. SLUGFEST WAS OK BUT ALLSTAR BASEBALL WAS HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING. THE GRAPHICS WERE OK BUT THE GAME PLAY JUST STUNK. I WAS SO MAD THAT I TOOK IT BACK AND TRADED IT FOR THIS GAME CALLED......... HOMERUN KING. I WAS ABSOLUTLEY STUNNED BY THE GRAPHICS AND BY THE GAME PLAY ITSELF. NEVER BEFORE HAVE I ENCOUNTERED A BASEBALL GAME WITH THIS KIND OF GAME PLAY AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL. I WAS GLAD THAT I FOR ONCE ACTUALLY HAD TO WORK A LITTLE FOR HIT INSTEAD OF BEING ABLE TO BLAST ONE EVERYTIME I CAME UP. IT IS BY FAR THE BEST PITCHER/BATTER INTERACTION I'VE EVER SEEN. I DON'T KNOW IF I'D CALL IT ARCADE EITHER, THE PLAYERS AND STADIUMS LOOK VERY REAL. SOME GAMES HAVE GREAT GRAPHICS AND NO GAME PLAY. ON THE OTHER HAND SOME GAMES HAVE GREAT GAME PLAY AND NO GRAPHICS. IN THIS GAME WE WERE BLESSED WITH BOTH. IF I NEVER SEE ANOTHER BASEBALL GAME I AM GLAD JUST TO HAVE THIS ONE. I WOULD GIVE IT SIX STARS IF I COULD!

This game is much better that All Star 2002-03. The Gameplay is so much easier to control and the graphics are unbelievable. I would definitely recommend this game to any GAMECUBE Fan. GAMECUBE Is the BEST By Far!!!

Home Run King is one of the best games I have ever played. It has really good graphics. And the gameplay is really good too. The Creat a Player is great. There are so many different features to choose for players and pitchers. If you like baseball games that are really good. Get this one. You'll love it!

[Bad] Game,
By Jayson Anderson (Thousand Oaks, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: HOME RUN KING (Video Game)
This game is an exaggeration of high scoring games. I scored 65 runs before they got their first out on me playing as legend (hardest level). The controls are [bad] and the main menu is a complete disaster. Unless you want to sit there in front of the tv for 3 hours and ending the game 2,500,000 to 0 don't get this game.
