I LOVE THIS MODEL KIT! It have very good articulation(the poses this kit can do is amazing). It have a good number of accessories(a shield, beam rifle, two beam sabers*they are awesome and they do come with two clear pink beams which is very durable and detailed unlike the other model kit beam sabers* and of course the katana). Very little paint is required which is very good(the the hilt and the sheath of the katana needs paint; a bit of red and gold. This model kit is a must buy. In fact all of the astray model kits are a must. Get this model kit. GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 1/144 scale HG Astray Red Frame is one of the coolest Gundams ever. It has a unique look, very unique weapons, and this kit has great quality to match that.

The good:
-First off is the Gerbera Straight, the coolest weapon in this or any kit I've built thus far. C'mon, a robot wielding a katana? Seriously awesome. It's a single-piece katana with a two-piece sheath, and you can actually slide the katana into the sheat. It even locks into place satisfyingly. This is excellent when combined with...
-Maximum poseability. All of the suit's joints, from its wrists to its ankles, pose extremely well. The kit can reach its right hand all the way over to the Gerbera on its hip, it can grab the beam sabers behind its head, and can otherwise obtain almost any cool sword pose you can dream up.
-You even get a rifle and a shield, if posing the suit with the Gerbera and its beam sabers isn't enough yet. The rifle and shield set well, and are again complemented by excellent kit poseability.
-The suit's unique style is its very biggest hit for me. The legs are interestingly put together with the red-on-white colors being very striking. The suit looks excellent out of the box, and although it doesn't need any detail at all, painters can shoot for the moon accenting all of the joints and details if they so choose. A few additional stickers are provided, allowing you to sticker the suit either for its affiliation, or with pilot Lowe Guele's trademark.

The only minuses I can dream up come from the show, as the kit doesn't come with any of Lowe's customizations. These include a double roatating beam saber device (BuCUE), a flight pack, or his eventual creation of a double-handed katana putting the Gerbera Straight to shame. But these are all really just extras, that while cool, are unnecessary for the main suit. Get this kit, and you get almost unparalleled flexibility with a very cool visual style. You can't ask for much more than that on a kit this small.

compared to another 1/144 kit i've got(HGUC #122 AMS-129 Geara Zulu (Guard Type) 1/144 model kit)
it's about 1/3 smaller.
I know that in "real size" of them, Red Frame is smaller than Zulu. But the movable joints are less and some details are not as good as Zulu while both of them are HG level model.

I bought Red frame for it has tachi. The tachi is good, but it's soft plastic.

It's the easiest one I've ever build. They simplized the parts so it's easy for beginner to build.

Overall the products of Bandai are always in good quality. It looks nice in detail.
Since it's in a good price, I'll recommend you guys to buy one just to killing your time and have fun with it.

Ok, just to let everyone know, this was my first Gundam model, but not my first model. I had no idea where to start in the Gundam world, just picked something that looked cool. To start, the box it came in looks awesome. The actual build of the model is not to difficult. They just snap, or rather slide, into place and most pieces fit snugly, though there was a few that had to be modified to fit well. The final product looks great, at least to a newbee, though it does lack some of the detail it shows on the box. With a little paint and time it looks much better. The figure seems a little frail and some pieces may fall off now and then but you can just pop them back into place. The extras it comes with are fantastic too. 2 saber swords, a rifle, a shield and a katana. I could not recommend this model more highly to both people new to the Gundam world or veterans.

I always wanted to buy a Model Kit but never knew which to buy. After watching reviews on youtube about Gundam Astray Red Frame, I decided, "what the hell" and purchase it. The delivery time was exactly as it stated. Building the kit, was rather interesting but easy. It can take you about an hour to build. The movement to pose it is excellent. This Model Kit is perfect to buy for any collector or anyone interested in this kit. This was my First and I would gladly say, I'm very proud of it. The money was worth it. The only problem I did have with this kit was the gun hand(the trigger finger hand). You have to be very careful putting it because the trigger finger(index finger) stands out and with very little pressure you can break it. I got my today and sadly, my trigger finger broke but, with a little bit of crazy glue or super glue, it went back into place and is perfectly fine now. So, all you Gundam Collectors or those looking for a Model Kit or those new to collecting, I recommend getting this kit.

but not my last... this was a much better model than i expected. very nice detail, stable joints, awsome weapons. its the same model as the 22 dollar astray 1/144 red frame, but this model comes with beam sword blades. oddly the 22 dollar one doesnt. to bad the pic on this is so terrible. it took me about 2 1/2 hrs to build and stands about 5 inchs. over all i realy like this model, and will keep collecting the 1/144 kits. i have warrior zaku on the way... so watch out for my reveiw on it.

A truly fantastic model/figure. Perfect for various dynamic poses any collector or model builder will appreciate.
