5.0 out of 5 stars This Book Gives the Raw Truth About School Districts and How a Teacher Can Survive, August 22, 2009
This book helped me to Heal; I will never teach again especially not in California. I was Demeaned, humiliated, and angry.

School districts in California prey upon the new teachers who want to teach and love children. They will not tell you the truth; this book does. The Real Raw Unabridged Truth!!

I have been a teacher for over 20 years in California. Today I am looking at my options and wondering why I did not leave this profession sooner. I have never felt more disgusted than now. My Bully is the principal and her pawns; you know, the little people who run around as if they really have power and authority when really all they are is suck-ups, brown nosers. She has no family and is very unattractive which does not matter I know, as bullies come attractive as well as unattractive. But, my bully boss was the envious and jealous type. She was so evil you might mistaken her for a witch if she had a cauldron and broomstick.

My life has been miserable this past year; she would bust into my classroom ranting and raving, scaring my special needs students half to death. I would have to explain to them each and every time after her visit that it was not about them, but about her and her "problem". I swear some of these bully boss principals act as though they need to see a serious mental health therapist of sorts.

Months of being tormented by this creature, led me to have to take anti-depressants, and sleeping pills as I was diagnosed with PTSD and panic attacks. Every time I heard her footsteps my heart would start beating so fast I thought it was going to stop.

Finally, I filed for a work injury and thank goodness, I won my case as a worker that was injured on the job. I am taking my compensation and starting another business of my own. I do not think I could work for another school district; they all seem to collect these bully boss crazy principals.

This book helped me to realize I was not alone; in fact I felt relieved and knew that I had done the right thing by suing my bully boss and the school district for my ill health. Teachers who have not yet received tenure, pay union dues but the union does not tell them this fact: the union cannot protect you from loosing your job because the district can fire you for any reason; yet you still pay the dues, for what? If you are an injured worker at the hands of a bully boss this book gives you resources that are practical and helpful. Your union will not help you.

I am purchasing several copies for my co-workers who are left to work for this psychopathic maniac. I only hope they will use the information and pass it on to another traumatized teacher.

5.0 out of 5 stars Honest, Helpful, Practical, Brief, August 9, 2009

I recently purchased this book looking for answers to help me in my workplace with my bully boss. I can't leave but still need to know what I could do to make my life more tolerable. This book gave me practical suggestions and places to go for more answers that may be legal. It gave me enough information without overwhelming me.

I thought the author was honest in her explanations of what had happened to her; she could understand me and my situation; I could feel her pain and her triumph. This book was written for people like me who feel alone battling a bully at work; helpless.

After reading this book twice, I purchased several copies for friends who are experiencing bullies right now; I also purchased several for bully bosses I used to work for, hoping they will get the hint.

In November I will purchase a few copies for Xmas gifts. I am thankful the author who is still being bullied was not afraid to speak up. These days people are afraid to use their freedom of speech.

5.0 out of 5 stars An educating experience!, August 2, 2009
At last a book on bullying that is short enough for me to finish in a day yet long enough to give me the information I need to survive and be sane while working for a bully boss! I was surprised to hear stories that describe how administrators actually harass teachers. I do not teach but I know people who do and boy are they having a difficult time with bullying principals and administrators.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is going through this situation with a bully at work! It also gives resources I found helpful such as websites with more advice.

5.0 out of 5 stars more of a comment than a review, October 6, 2010

I confess, I haven't read the book yet, but I do read her blog and I'm impressesed with her work. I gave her 5 stars because I'm not giving a negative review to a book I've never opened. I just wanted to say, no wonder we have a bullying problem in the schools. How can we teach our children to be kind to each other if the adults haven't figured it out yet. It seems like the most successful anti-bullying campaign wil be one that forces Teachers and Administrators to look at their own behavior first...remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to...

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for all employees, September 4, 2009
I had a female bully boss who gave me PTSD; consequently I left my chosen
field never wanting to expose myself to such abuse ever again. Had I read
this book, had it been available ten years ago, I am sure I would have stood
up to her and not walked away, giving her so much power and control.

This is a MUST read for anyone going into fields where this type of bully
boss is common place. Trust me, you NEED this book; if nothing else you need
to use it as a reference in case you come across a bully boss. You need to
know what to do to protect yourself. I have bought several copies, since
they are so inexpensive, as gifts to my ex co-workers still working for this
psychopath. In fact I plan to send a copy to the Bully Boss Herself! It
would be great to start a campaign against bully bosses by sending all bully
bosses THE BOOK. Cheers!

I am an ex-probationary special education teacher in Los Angeles, California. Having been victimized much like the prey mentioned in the book, I have changed my career and is now much more aware of what signs to look for that will ensure I will not become another victim of a bully boss. I also filed suit against my bully boss and won! I think this book; How Organizations Empower Bully Bosses is an excellent guide on how to be sure that you are in a safe environment and how to be encouraged and motivated to stand up and Fight Back! I particularly enjoyed chapters 11, 13, and 17. Folks, this kind of criminal abuse happen all the time. You might be a target-find out what to do. Read this book, it's a must have!
