Weight of this filter tells you right away that you are getting a substantial filter. The 1-inch "nut" on the end plus the painted "dot" on one side of that nut makes for easy install. In tight applications, a typical adjustable wrench allows an easy turn. The added dot allows you to easily note when you have turned the filter the required 3/4ths of a turn onto the engine. It's a small extra, but it keeps you from having to scratch an index mark onto the filter body once it contacts the engine (as a reference mark to then turn the filter the additional 3/4-ths of a turn to seat it properly).

I don't have any scientific results that say this filter has any better performance than other filters I've used on my car but I haven't had any problems either.

The main thing I like about this filter is the nut on it that makes removal a breeze. Putting filters on my car for hand tightness is easy but I find my car can be difficult to remove with spacing around the filter area if the filter sticks at all. Being at the bottom gives easy access to tools to just break it loose and then continue by hand.

I've been using K & N Oil and Air Filter for my Toyota 4runner and I am found it's cheaper to purchase this at amazon.They came in fast and I will recomend them to everyone..

Please don't review this filter unless you have some knowledge of what you are reviewing or have had time to fairly review the product whether good or bad. I love this filters. They do a very nice job of filtering the oil especially for those of us using full synthetic oil and going longer intervals between changes. These filters are well constructed and have a thicker outer case which is great for those that may use them in trucks or vehicles going off road. They contain synthetic media inside which gives them the ability to give great filtration while still maintaining a high flow rate. That is critical in an oil filter as you want contaminants to be filtered out but you also don't want the filter restricting the flow of oil through the motor. These filters also have both an anti-drain back valve and a bypass valve to protect your engine. Without being too technical oil filters and oil are critical to the long life of your engine. If you plan on keeping your car or truck don't go cheap on these and you may save yourself some very expensive repairs in the long run. Read about the problems people have had with some VW/Audi, Toyota & Chrysler engines with oil sludge. Using quality filters and a high quality synthetic oil from day 1 could have prevented many of these sludge failures that cost the owners of these vehicles thousands of dollars. I have been using K&N oil filters in my vehicles for years and have never had a problem. Current owner of a Ford F150 & a Lexus GS430 and both use these filters.

Oh and as a footnote these filters are the same internally as the Mobil 1 Extended Performance filters. I think the Mobil 1 branding does cost a little more as they are the recommended filter to go along with the Mobil 1 extended performance oil. Only difference is the K&N case I think is a little thicker and the Mobile 1 branded filter doesn't come with the nut at the top of the filter. The internals are the same Champion Labs makes them. As an alternative the Wix filters are also very good and they come under Napa & Napa Gold branding from Napa Auto Parts stores. I have been very impressed with the Napa Gold Wix filters.

It is the best oil filter money can buy. Amazon has the best prices if you compared to local auto stores.

I only uses K&N oil filters on all my cars and trucks. You can't go wrong with it when it comes to engine protection.

If you are do-it-yourselfer, K&N is most convenient (nut to remove, mark to rotate the last 3/4 turn). If you are a racing enthusiast, Mobil can withstand the max pressure (615 psi, Bosch 500 psi) whereas K&N allows max oil flow (less efficient filtration). If you are interested in changing filter as late as possible, Bosch holds the max contaminants (29.1g, Mobil 28g). If you want max engine protection, Bosch is 99.9% efficient (Mobil 99.2%, and K&N less efficient to increase oil flow)

I own Toyotas (Camry and 4Runner), I buy K&N oil filters because they are the same as the high end Toyota Racing Division (TRD) oil filters but at a better price, especially on Amazon. I use synthetic oil (Mobil 1) and it is recommended to use synthetic filter media which the K&N has. Not that I have ever seen a failed oil filter but it would be difficult to burst the metal can on this filter because it has a lowest gauge (thickest) metal can than any other oil filter on the market. I also like the 1" nut welded on the back can which comes in handy when removing the oil from my Camry.

I have been a K&N fan for years; they make top-of-the-line products and their oil filters are the best. One feature of K&N's oil filters is the stamped-in nut at the end of the filter that helps on installation and removal. I know the product so my major interest is the price. I looked around quite a bit to find the price I wanted and store I could trust. I solved both needs with Amazon's supplier and competitive price.

VERY pleased with this filter. i decided to give this filter a try, knowing it's a respected brand and it was offered at a nice price. this filter actually raised my pressure by about 10 lbs. i will definitely be using this filter for years to come.

Hard to get too excited about an oil filter, but from reading a couple of reviews on the web, the K&N is one of the better built filters on the market and through Amazon, it is also a great price!
