Product Description

K&N Automotive Wrench-Off Canister Oil Filter
Premium Wrench-Off Oil Filters

We've all been there: whether it's remembering where that filter removal wrench is; having oil leak all over your garage and yourself; or finally giving up and pounding a screwdriver through the filter just to get it off. Most of our oil filters come with a nut welded to the top of the canister so they can be easily wrenched-off with a standard tool.

High-Flow Rate

K&N oil filters use resin impregnated cellulose filter media. This allows for higher flow rates while providing outstanding filtration. High filter flow rates are important in racing vehicles where heavier grade oil is used and the oil is pumped much faster than in a standard vehicle. When the engine is circulating oil at high GPM rates, the high-flow oil filter helps reduce the loss of pressure through the filtering process.

Extended Life Makes Dollars and Sense

Many vehicle manufacturers are now recommending average oil change intervals of 10,000 miles or longer for newer vehicles using certain synthetic motor oils (Always follow the factory recommended oil change intervals). K&N premium Wrench-Off Oil Filters are the perfect partner for synthetic oils and extended oil change intervals. Extending your oil change intervals can save you time and serious money. Don't let an oil filter designed to last 3,000 miles be the weak link in the chain. K&N's premium Wrench-Off Oil Filters are built to go the distance.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE MADE EASY
  • Specially Designed for Today's Synthetic and Extended Service Motor Oils
  • Heavy Gauge Canister with Leak-proof Double-Rolled Seams

I use this product for both my mustang (306 stroker) and for my everyday ride. Might just be me but after a couple thousand, I noticed that my engine oil (mobile #1 synthetic) seems to look almost new when I check the dip stick????

If nothing else, the welded nut on the bottom of this filter makes it worth the additional cost over cheaper brands at discount stores. Add the sturdier construction and filter media and you have an excellent product. I will buy again and ordering from Amazon makes it hassle free.

Great price on these filters. I've been using these in my truck for the past year and i can really see the difference in my oil at 3k miles, still clean. Would recommend these with Mobil 1 oil.

Reason for buying this is for the NUT on the end of it, I have had MANY times where it couldn't get one off without the NUT :)

I have been using k and n forever. They keep the oil clean. I use Mobil 1 extended performance synthetic and change my oil once every 9k miles, even though mobil 1 says its good for 15k. The k and n oil filter works better than any other filters in the market. The higher price is worth the performance. Amazon sells these 5 bucks cheaper than most local stores. I drivea 2001 jeep grand cherokee 4.0 I6. Runs smoother since i switched to synthetiic. Btw, i also have a k and n air filter and the difference is significant. Great product.

I've been using this oil filter after I first got my Gen.3 Dodge Dakota with the 3.9L engine. Where the filter is located, I can barely get my band style filter wrench to go around the filter, because of the tight area between that and the frame of the truck. This allows me to get under there with a 1" box end wrench and get it off no problem, and without getting my filter wrench stuck! K&N has always made reliable products, and these are some of the best on the market. Unlike Fram filters, these are manufactured to withstand high pressure, and if you go to YouTube and see the videos of guys cutting all the major filters on the market open, you can see first hand why these are great oil filters to go with for your vehicle.

I started purchasing these types of oil filters since I had problems removing the cheaper oil filters. I do my own oil changes and hand tighten them. For some reason the oil filters would get stuck. Then I tried using the oil wrenches to get them off and it would bend the filter making the filter wrench useless. I would have to drive a screwdriver through it to get them turned and off. I grew tired of this so I purchased a k&n with the welded nut. With these I have no problems. With the nut I use my wrench and twist that sucker off. Makes everything much easier and no more messy oil trying to get a filter off. As far as performance who knows. I have 99 cherokee with 160,000 miles and still running strong.

I use this oil filter with synthetic mobile 1 oil. I change the filter every 5000 miles, and replace the oil every 10,000. It's worked well for me so far.
