This is a nice printer. It is actually cheaper in the long run than an ink jet printer as there is no ink to dry up and force you to buy more cartridges before they are used up. However, it does take up probably twice the space of most ink jet printers.

As a personal printer - what I'm using it for - this printer is pretty fast. But, it's not nearly as fast as most of the office printers out there. If you do high volume printing then you don't want this printer. But, for most people - and low volume office printing - this printer is fast enough.

The print quality is excellent for text. Photos aren't as good as an ink jet with clean nozzles and the right paper, but they are pretty good.

The printer was in excellent condition, and actually had a very modest count of sheets run through it. It is really a great printer, so I was sad when HP discontinued it. Glad to see the refurbished unit in stock, and in such excellent shape. I would purchase from this vendor again.

Setup and software install went smoothly. Chose "minimum required software" to install only drivers, etc. Have not had much use for non-essential HP software in the past.

Two months in...works perfectly, no complaints. Very pleased with the print quality and the features. Duplex was important to me as well. High perceived value for the money spent.

No problems setting up....great print quality. I am very satisfied with this purchase. HP is offering a trade-in program on this printer for 2009 ($125 for trading in your old printer). Check out the HP site for details on the 2009 Trade-In and Save program.

I purchased this printer to replace a Brother 4070CDW that first started printing images very badly (vertical stripping, smearing) and then died with what was probably a "low voltage power supply" failure. The cost of determining the failure and fixing it was more than a new printer.

I decided on the HP Color Laser Jet 2025 because of its price and my good experiences with other HP printers. For some reason, I thought the 2025 was wireless, but it IS NOT! However, with some fussing around I got it to work as a shared printer attached via the USB connection to an old Windows 2000 notebook on our wireless network and now both my wife (on a MacBook) and I (on a Windows Vista laptop) can print wirelessly again.

The color from the HP 2025 is beautiful and much better than the Brother 4070CDW. Other reviews have stated that the HP 2025 is slow, but we have not noticed this at all with text-only documents. Duplex pages with large images seem to take 45-60 seconds, but the images are so much better than the Brother 4070CDW that extra time is worth the wait. Multiple pages of the same image are about 10 pages per minute.

Aside from the cost of HP toner, I am very happy with this printer.

The printer installed fine under Windows XP, but failed to print anything but the testpage under Vista 64 bit. Driver updates for the CP2025dn (2020 -series) did not resolve the issue. I would get the following message:

PCL XL error
Subsystem: KERNEL
Error: IllegalOperatorSequence
Operator: EndSession
Position: 14

Looking at several posts in HP's forum or (lack of) Knowledge Base did not produce anything useful. HP seemed to ignore the issue and many posts were left unanswered. One guy suggested swapping the USB cable or suggesting some "interference" - utter nonsense: it's a driver issue.

The CP2020-series USB driver does not fix it, however, the generic HP PCL6 driver (for Vista 64 bit)works fine and (so far) resolves the issue.
[...]

After 2 days: print speed is adequate, print quality is fine, the build quality is not as great as it used to be, but seems decent enough.

I am still waiting for my $125 rebate from HP, but it won't stop me from recommending this. Don't be scared off by the low price. Wow, the color quality of this printer is even better than the Xerox color laser 8500 it replaced. It's light and fairly compact, too. I use it lightly but for photos of artwork, and have had it for about 2 months, so I can't speak to longer term maintenance or ink pricing. But is is very very speedy and the color output beats Xerox by a mile. It makes me smile every time I print out a full page photo!

The printer repair "guru" recommended this while repairing my Xerox 8500 which suffered an early and painful death after only 2 years!! He said this model was easy to repair.

My company has 6 of these printers in service, used by a total of 350 people. They are excellent printers. My biggest complaint, and the reason I gave 4 instead of 5 overall stars, is that HP has major supply issues with the entire line of this printer. I just now spoke to HP and there is a minimum 2 month backorder from HP itself. Often other vendors will sell you the printer, but then it ends up on backorder because they can't get the item from HP to ship to you.

This is the only color laser printer HP offers around this price point with the features, and it's surprising that they don't make enough to meet demand. If you do manage to get hold of one, it will serve you well.

HP quality is in the toilet. This printer cannot handle the simplest of tasks, such as printing a pdf document without altering the images with grid lines. And, it cannot print my MS Publisher files without the same awful grid lines. After two hours with HP technical help (which is helpless), I gave up. The technician was unable to get this thing to print colors without those grid lines. I downloaded the HP Universal print driver too, to no avail.
Cons: Printer claims to have a paper jam when none exists
Grid lines all through solid colors in documents
Prints dark colors when my computer screen displays light colors
Technical help is usesless
Pro's: HP did pay for the return shipping cost

For some time I have had in my mind the perfect printer. It would be a) color laser b) networked c) do duplex d) smallish and e) be reasonably priced (got it new for $375 at a big box store sale). The technology has finally arrived with the HP CP2025. This printer is all of these. And after 2 months of ownership and about 50 pages printed (I don't print too much) I am very happy with it. The quality is great, I suspect your average use would be happy with the quality of the photos printed. The speed is surprisingly fast. I have had no problems with the drivers. It is a little noisy, it is always calibrating and cleaning. But that doesn't bother me too much.
