I have had this printer for about 18 months and it has been such a hassle! It finally quit on me with an error of " ink system failure". The printer is loud, slow and very ink thirsty! You have to buy 4 different ink cartridges each time you replace. Beware...

I have had this printer for 2 years and would not recommend it to anyone that doesn't print very many photos. It takes up SO much ink when printing colored documents and I often find that if all colored ink are not at 85% full and above that the color terrible. I wish I would have returned it.

I have the Linux operating system, Ubuntu 10.04 I believe. This HP printer works for that system and thats good enough for me. It's great to have an all-in-one that operates without any problems on linux.
The printer makes all the noises that the other reviewers have probably said it does, but it gets the job done. The setup was very simple. I also know that its a durable machine, because the USPS demolished the box during transport - and it still worked perfectly. Hope this helps someone.
