I tried to save money by buying a non-OEM drum online (half the price of the original). But it only lasted a few months, then all my print out had a dark black line on the edge. I didn't realize it was the drum problem and hired a tech for in-house repair. Then I found out it was the drum got worn out too fast. The original drum that came with the printer lasted several years (maybe 4). It is worth it to spend a little more to get a real good quality item that will last. Now I just bought a new OEM drum, the problem went away.

You can't go wrong buying HP parts for your HP printers. They install the way they are supposed to install, they work the way they are supposed to work, and you get the yield you are supposed to get. The only down side is price. They tend to be a little bit more expensive. If you can find a good deal on them, it's not so bad. I have to replace these about once a year, which isn't bad considering the printer we buy them for is the main fax machine for the office. Good product.
