HP 02 Cyan Ink Cartridge in Retail Packaging

(Updated Aug. 07) The seller has corrected the photo so it shows only the cartridge -- when I wrote this review, they showed a whole set. But to keep them honest, and for the record, here is my original review:
THIS PRODUCT PHOTO FALSELY IMPLIES THAT YOU WILL GET A FULL SET OF HP 02 INK CARTRIDGES. THE DESCRIPTION IS FOR ONE ONLY. THE PHOTO IS MISLEADING IF NOT DOWNRIGHT DECEPTIVE. DO NOT BE FOOLED!
Now that's out of the way, I highly recommend the HP 02 color (and black) series inkjet cartridges. Unlike competitors designs, the print-head is built-in, so you get a new one every time you change the cartridge. Also, although the cartridges hold less than half the 13ml of ink you get with the new Canon "8" series, the ink used to clean is actually recycled back into the cartridge, so there is less waste.

I do feel the message was an error caused by the printer no recognizing that I replaced the cartridge. Unfortunately, an additional message was displayed on the printer indicatinig that usiing expired ink could nullify the warrenty. So, ALWAYS CHECK EXPIRATION DATE ON PACKAGING BEFORE OPENING

I have a C7280 Photosmart printer and it utilizes 6 of these cartridges. While the print quality is incredible so is the price. I wish the cartridges were bigger and less expensive. It seems like an extraordinary waste of resources to pack such a tiny amount of ink into this package. It seems quite obvious that HP cares more about ridiculous profits than the environment.

PLEASE check your date stamp on the HP ink cartridges you buy for HP printers. In yet another way HP has found to abuse its customers (why so much contempt for their users???!) . . . the HP Photosmart printer's built in diagnostic protocol determines that any ink cartridge that is too old (who knows what that period is because it is not disclosed) cannot be used, and will shut down the print job unless you either remove and replace the old ink cartridge with a new one, or agree (by pressing the "OK" button) to void your warranty for using the older cartridge. What a bunch of crooks.

So, when you stock up on HP ink cartridges like me, you'll find that you can't use them unless you want to void your warranty. Ultimately, I suppose it's not that big of a deal because the HP printers often just stop working after about two years and trying to get HP to admit their printer was produced with faulty design and mfg is like trying to get to the moon in a row boat.

Excellent results as always from HP. Only observation as always in the high price of HP replacements.

I can't say enough positive things about the Photosmart 6280 w/ Vivera (HP02) inks. Yes, the inks are smaller, but since they are half the price of other inks, I don't find myself spending that much more, and the print quality is unparalleled! I've tried the rest, and I've come back to the best - HP printers and inks.

i ordered this cyan HP catridge from Databazaar. i ordered it on Dec 14 in pm with free standard shipping. I received it on Dec 15 in the am. My printer recognised it as a genuine HP cartridge it is off & running

Works great as always. I found out the hard way that the ink in the package deals do not have as much in them as the individually packaged ones do, so I believe it is actually cheaper in the end to get the single packs.

I ordered 3 ink cartridges through Amazon from a third party vendor (Infinite-Surplus). I have not yet tried any of the cartridges but the packaging leaves a lot to be desired and is not as represented in the photo. Rather than each cartrdige being shipped in a Hewlett Packard box as shown in the photo, the three were shipped in an envelope with only their inner packaging, as if they were broken out of the combo pack. On top of that, the packaging containing the magenta cartridge was open, which could indicate a returned cartridge or just poor packaging.
