I have tried just about every DVD-R and DVD+R on the market. I have used cut rate brands that performed well in some batches, then suddenly fell to a 30% failure rate. Some of the name brands have not been much better, suffering failure rates more than 10% in some batches. I have found HP DVD-R disks to be among the best available on the market, with a failure rate less than 2% on every batch I have used thus far. One feature I like is HP's printable surface, which extends all the way to the hub, allowing full face labeling. You'll find them in the used/new listing at around $30/100, an unbeatable price.

I bought an Epson RX680 printer, then started shopping for printable DVDs. This HP is the first I've tried and I selected it because HP is pretty reliable and this was the best unit cost I could find, because other sources charge for shipping. I'm getting beautiful print jobs with this printer and these discs. I've printed about 50 so far. One of the discs was defective on the "burn" side, so 4 stars.

I have used the standard non-printable single-layer HP discs for years and have found them extremely reliable, so decided to give the printable ones a try. In the center of my 100 stack, there were 25 with the recording surface chipped, scratched, and gouged. They had obviously been damaged during the manufacturing process and I was the unlucky recipient of the machine hiccup and lack of quality control. I don't appreciate it one little bit. What were they thinking, letting these get out the door? These DVD's sure won't be going through any of my doors again.

HP continues to produce a high quality product as expected. Not one coaster and the printing surface produces an excellent image. Thank you Amazon for another great product at a great price!

these are good, they have failed less than other brands ive tried so far, the print surface takes well. the only thing i wish is that i could take advantage of the fact that even the inner ring of the disc that is typically clear plastic is covered in printable surface, but this is no fault of the disc but of my printer. ;)

I've had no problems with them. Colors print great and no glitches burning the DVD's. I've tried similar brands, but this is by far the best.

I have duplicated 90 of these so far and none of them have failed. They burn and play great, and they also allow for good looking prints. I used these to make copies of a 90 minute documentary and effectively used about 4.3 GBs worth of each DVD with no playing problems.

*Note that all DVDs actually only hold 4.37 GBs because of them using a different measurement system than your computer.

I have ordered from Amazon for years now and this is the "first" time I have ever received a product with a problem...so far the product is fine, however, in packing the bubble wrap was busted and the container that held the DVD's was busted and loose in the box when it arrived at my door...other than that they seem to work well. I use dvd r's for storage of photos and data several times a week and have not had one bad disc out of this patch. first time using the HP's disc and very pleased with them. Great image quality on disc front label and also with play back.

Great price! Arrived in great shape and earlier than promised.
Packing was great!
I have only used one of the disc so far and in printed a great picture and backed up my pictures perfectly.
I will buy again when I need to.
I wished someone would sell the HP inkjet printable discs that are water resistant. I am looking for it.
