Excellent printer,
This review is from: HP DeskJet 3550 Color Printer (Office Product)
I've had this printer for a couple of months now and its perfect for me as a college student. It works very well and has a very good print quality and has an on screen ink monitor that can tell you how much ink you have left before each print job so you'll know when you're running low on ink and need to replace it (though i've yet to replace mine after 2 months). Overall for a college student, its a pretty decent printer.

This printer is great. I needed a new color printer for my birthday abd I got this one. I am amazed at the low consumption level from picture printing. It also commes with its own imaging software. WOW!! I recommend it to anyone who need a pro-quality printer that work with paper, and photo paper.

Speedy and inexpensive.,

Bought this printer because ink for the lexmark was about the same price as this printer. Have been very happy with it. Faster print speed than the lexmark, vibrant colors, and installed like a dream. Plug and go.You just can't go wrong with this one. Would have got 5 stars if it came with a usb cable, had to buy seperately.

Pass on this one,

This review is from: HP DeskJet 3550 Color Printer (Office Product)
Don't bother - very disappointing for an HP product. This printer fails to print consistently and "carriage stalls" frequently. This defect is clearly well known at HP Support. The manual solution, while effective, is not a real answer. Save your time and money on this one.(...)

Nice Printer, Watch out for power cord,
By A Customer
This review is from: HP DeskJet 3550 Color Printer (Office Product)
I've only been using my new HP 3550 for a day, and so far I'm pleased. It seems to be a great bang for the buck.My only complaint in the power cord. Most products are now shipping with the transformer on the center of the cord, so the wall plug is small. This printer still has a HUGE wall wart, with the plug attached. Power outlet real-estate is scarce at my computer desk, and the huge plug does't help things.

I have always been a big fan of HP printers. I have an HP 920c at work and love it. I was trying to find one for my home but they have discontinued it. Instead I bought this one and have been so disappointed with it. It jams all the time and the color isn't as good as the 920c. It makes a terrible noise when it is trying to pull the paper through and it always manages to pull at least 5 pages at a time. Now it is refusing to print anything. I am not happy with this printer at all.

Worst Printer Ever!,

This review is from: HP DeskJet 3550 Color Printer (Office Product)
I have had many printers in my time, but i have to say this is the worst printer i have ever seen!
I actually paid for it aswell!, i could of got a free printer with my computer, but instead i upgraded and got this! Like many people have said, its: - always jamming! Every time! - It wont print in black? - Extremely hard to get the paper in - Screw's up all my print out's [that actually print] - Wont turn off! The green light just keeps on flashing I dont understand why HP could sell such a rubbish printer? Shame on them!

Avoid this printer,

This printer is not worth your time and frustration. I received it essentially free--for the nominal price of one Slovenian tolar, or about half a US cent--when I bought a new HP computer. Even at that price, it was not a good value. It jams nearly every time it tries to feed paper, and on the rare occasions it manages to print with no malfunction, the quality is poor. If zero stars were an option, I'd give it zero. I quickly replaced it with a 'real' printer. Look elsewhere.

Purchased this the last of July, 2005 and have had no problems! The printer prints fast, has great, high quality printing looks. The color prints are even great! I am very pleased with this printer! Evidently I must have received a better printer than some of the other reviewers. For home use this is one fine printer especially for the price. No let down at all for this buyer!

I bought this printer during my freshman year of college, wanting a reasonably cheap printer to avoid having to constantly trek to the library to print papers. While my friends who have bought similar HP models have had problems with them, I've found this printer to be reliable and suitable for my needs. It prints extremely quickly for an inkjet - although it does tend to be rather noisy - and I particularly like the feature which allows me to print on both sides of a page easily. It is also compact, which is always good in a dorm room. While it would not be suitable for someone printing extremely high volumes, I would recommend this printer for students.
