Jams a lot,
By
This review is from: HP Deskjet 3915 Inkjet Printer ( C9112A#742 ) (Office Product)
It's an ok machine for occasionally printing a few sheets of paper. But the paper feed is really poor, often pulling in a whole bunch of sheets at the same time. And if you need to print envelopes don't bother; very often it jams up.

Feeder issues,

The feeder on this printer does not work as I expected based on previous experience with HP printers. Printing labels has been the most frustrating. The feeder pulls the label sheet in crooked, or it pulls it too far in, or not far enough in. I have also experienced the problem of the feeder pulling 10 sheets in at once.

The other reviews about the feeder issues are correct. Other than that its an ok printer if you are not doing big jobs. The ink in CONSTANTLY running out..seems like I have to put in a new ink cartridge every week. I do print everyday but I dont print HUGE amounts everyday. Also, there is no generic ink for it on the market so you are stuck buying the expensive stuff.

I have been using this printer for past 4 years and there is no issues. I print around 30-40 pages per month. I keep changing ink cartridges as required. No maintenance, works well. No paper jam, color and b/w are great. No complaints.

I got this as a gift, been using it for about a year. It works best when it turned off. Forget about using it for envelopes, just smears the address. Its does not take up to much space, and that's good. On/off switch does not work will, most of the time it just stays on. Does not know when you have paper in the tray, and don't put to much in, will not load.

I have never hated a device more,

I'm on the verge of turning this thing into a pile of smoking rubble. I've had countless problems with this printer, from print quality to the paper feed. This thing is a disaster. Heed my warning, DO NOT GET NEAR THIS THING.

This is one of the worst printer. Paper jams are very offen. There is no way to figure out why it does not work some time. It is worth trashing it. That is what I plan to do.

I have been using this printer since 2006. This works very well and very compact. I got a trouble only once when I used the unofficial ink cartridge, but never had same problem after I started using the official ink cartridge.

I had to buy this printer when on a working vacation. I've had it about 9 months now. I print aprox 50 pages & envelopes a day. I uaually have to refill the ink (wallgreens) about once a week. I have never had a problem with the regular paper feeds but the envelopes have become increasingly difficult to print. I have just been sitting here trying to print 12 envelopes & I've been here about 45 minutes. Each one jambs. It's worse if you try to print a lot at once. I'm getting really ticked off with it. I have more sucess printing one at a time (also time consuming) I'm not sure how much more sucess a more expensive printer would be. I actually have a spare b/c I went on the same working vacation & reailzed I left 1/2 of the power cord (it comes in 2 parts) at home so I had to "re-buy" the same printer. At least it came with color ink. Maybe I'll hook up the 2nd one to see if the envelope jambs go away.Pros: I like the size/weight. It's easy to refill (but runs out much faster than other ink cartridges) No complaints with print quality Comes with color ink cartridge Prints quickly Cons: Envelopes jam on a regular basis Doesn't come with a black ink cartridge Runs out of ink quickly (wait for $5 refill specials) Power cord is in 2 parts You have to buy the USB cable (not included) I would buy it again in a pinch (and have LOL)

I got this printer a few years ago when I needed one for college. It has been nothing but trouble. From feeder issues to just not wanting to print at all - it's not worth it. It also claims that it can do custom paper size up to 8.5x18. I would love to know how they figure that, because I've NEVER gotten any custom size to work. I'm glad I only payed $40 for mine, if I would have paid the full $124.99 like the list price here, it would have gone back long ago.
