The printer prints fine when it works but the whole ink system is a rip-off. The Color cartridge it came with did not work out of box. I replaced with a high capacity which failed before it was halfway. The black worked out of the box. When it was finished, I replaced with a high capacity black. This never worked. I replaced with a standard black and that indicated defective or damaged, before the ink was finished. I have now had 4 failed inks; two straight out of the box and two others failed before they were finished.

SHAME HP SHAME. You have made you ink cartridges poorly so that we keep buying expensive garbage. My advise to you all out there. These are disposable printers. The cost as much as the ink. Throw them away after your first set of ink is finished and buy another. Stop buying HP ink. HP may eventually get the message that we are fed up being exploited by their ink policy.

I am looking at alternatives, but wouldn't be surprised if they all do the same thing; Overprice their ink and and make them so they even fail before they are finished!!

Disgusted with HP.

I was pretty happy with my six year old All in One Canon printer, but when it stopped working, decided to replace it. I like the HP technology, so I decided to try the wireless All in One, but without FAX capability. I was using the FAX feature less than once a year. Other options exist for faxing with the scanner. I popped the CD that came with the printer into my desktop, and followed the instructions to set it up. It was easy. Not only does this printer feature wireless, but it has an ePrint capability. So far the HP 3512 is performing well, especially the ePrint. Looking forward to using the ePrint to print remotely from my Android tablet. The real test of this printer will be when I want to print 100 pages double sided with high resolution photos. The ink seems pricey, but after having an ink hog printer, we shall see how well this printer can hold up. I use the printer for photo greeting cards, calendars, brochures, business letters, business cards, envelopes, photographs, hand-outs for a class I teach, and copies of web pages that I want to share.

I used or had a number of HP printers throughout my career. They have always been reliable and pretty much
maintenance free. I bought this printer and it worked fine at first then I started having ink cartridge failures as others have described. I replaced them per the troubleshooting and HP support suggested but I had nothing but continued problems. I called HP support to complain and they advised me the printer was now out of warranty and that it was
probably the print head. However, because it was out of warranty, they wanted me to pay them $25 to even try to help me. They offered to sell me a new printer for about $20 more than I could buy a new one at
Walmart. Because of all of the problems I had with the printer I actually had barely used it to print documents. There is NO WAY the print head could have been damaged or should have failed. I am done with HP.

Bought this printer to be able to use with either a Windows 7 computer or a Windows 8 Computer. Happy to say, it works with any computer I installed in on.

PROS:
1) Very quiet when printing.
2) Scans very quickly
3) Prints faster than my older HP Photosmart D110 printer.

So since I bought this as an extra printer for my home office, I did not expect this moderately priced printer to be this great quality. So all in all, I give it a total of 4.5 stars.

Great little printer, very simple to set up.. This printer is designed to be used with a wireless network but, can be used on a USB. It's also Air-Print enabled, makes it a great partner for iOS

I bought this about 3 months ago, maybe a little less, when my Canon printer broke (after 3 years of heavy use, BTW). This printer is terrible. I just wanted it for school, so quality images weren't a goal of mine.

It's been okay up until now. Some little bugs here and there, but it worked.

About a month ago, the wireless stopped working. No clue what happened, but it refuses to link wirelessly with *anything*.

Today, it stopped recognizing the color ink cartridge. I used the same cartridge a few days ago with no issues. Cartridge is new, not empty. I tried to print, and ended up with horrible red striations in everything and it was printing double (think double-vision). Then it started flashing the "incompatible cartridge" error.

Now, it will not respond to anything. It's not communicating with Windows or even HPs "error detection" programs. It's not letting me install new drivers, nothing.

The best answer HP had for us was to buy a new cartridge (You know, to replace the new one). No thanks. I'll just buy another brand of printer, instead.

The thing worked great four times. After that nothing but problems. Call hp and they just tell you to choose clean cycle constantly and then state is a problem with your computer pay us 120.00s and we will fix your computer for you. Of course tell them no and state won't replace it unless I let them fix my computer. Went to my friend that owns a computer store had him take a look and stated nothing wrong. Go to hp inform them and they just wanted me to pay 120 dollars to do something to my computer and then they would send me a replacement unit. They could at least be honest and say there is no warranty.

Pros+
- Easy install
- Prints fast

Cons
- Bad pictures
- Scanner did not scan everything would have to do several attempts
- Will say is jammed at random when nothing is there
