This duplexer works great, but it may not be exactly what you think it is. The way it works is, it prints page 1, it then holds the page for a set amount of time (10-15 second) to let page 1 dry. It then pulls the paper back in, flips it over, and prints page 2.

If speed is what you are after, you will be better to print the Odd pages, re-load the paper and then print the Even pages. However, if convenience is what you are after, this duplexer is wonderful. I often print 20-30 page reports using this duplexer. Since I have it set up to print page 1 and 2 first, I can start reading as soon as page 2 is finished while the printer completes the rest of the report.

Again, do not buy this product if you need, or expect, it to be fast. Do buy it if you want convenience.

After finding the HP PH5582 Duplexer Accessory for my HP 6180 Photosmart All-in-One online, I will rate it 5 of 5. It does what is expected of it without any problems. I would truly recommend duplexer if you like to print both sides of the paper, thus saving paper. I have not had any problems with this device. Well worth the money.

If you want a faster method to print on 2 sides.
Manually turn the paper is still the way to go.

I bought this for my HP Photosmart D7160 and have printed out a few hundred pages so far. No problems, no jams at all, and once I figured out that if I printed using the Draft setting, no delay between pages for drying, so it's fast enough for me. My only gripe is that it should have been included with the printer from the factory.

It's a nice accessory, but if you are going to buy it to save money on paper you need to consider how much paper you can buy for the $80-100 you will spend on this gadget. I use it primarily to save space in notebooks, so I only have to lug around half as many sheets of paper.

I had some concerns after reading some of the reveiws. But this product has performed great for me. There is no delay in printing the second side. There have been no paper jams. Basically, it has worked very well on my Photomsart D7160. Very good buy.

This product has been absolutely outstanding! Not a single paper jam. Reasonably fast using "normal draft" mode. Best computer accessory I have ever owned!

This attachment is a must and HP knows it. It should be included with the printer even if thr printer cost is a little more. HP has a windfall on attachments and printer ink They run a racket on their ink. I am not satasfied with HP's business practices.

I owned an earlier model HP printer with a duplexer and found it to be a valuable tool. For this reason I purchased the duplexer accessory for my most recent printer.
The PH 5582 is not really a time saver but functions well as intended, making printing easier and essentially more economical. I like this product!

I have used this with my c6180 in OSX 10.4 and it worked great. When you put the printing to 'fast draft' it does not hold the paper like others have said. This is the way you should print anyway to save yourself ink and money. There is also a setting in the toolbox to set the 'dry time'. If you are printing two sided, you are probably not interested in photo type printing anyway.

*UPDATE: HP and Apple have both released updated drivers, so now it works flawlessly in 10.5.

*UPDATE2: Works even better in 10.6. I believe it is due to the new drivers in 10.6.

Worked on my Photosmart D7460 after configuring the device settings. It pauses to allow ink to dry before printing on opposite side. No more wasted paper.

I made a mistake in ordering this duplexer, it was for the wrong model printer. I tried to return this and received an e-mail back from A-Z computing that it would be best to try to sell it myself because the return postage and restocking fee would not be beneficial!

If anyone plans to buy from A-Z computing better know for sure what they are ordering is correct because their customer service is no good at all!

I recommend finding somewhere else to buy from.
